We arrived at Ripplewood rather later than we bargained for.......on the way we we got to within about 40 miles and came across a wrecked car blocking the road. So, thinking that the reception office would close and we'd have to spend the first night of three in the car, we (I) decided it would be a great idea to...

male, 5’8” and male, 6'4". Cabin 9 is 1B/1B full kitchen (gas stove) cabin with ample deck (just as big as 1 and 8) to enjoy the rippling (wide and shallow) creek. Windows face all four directions including one behind the bed (good for wake-up look outside), the toilet (good for dudes doing front business), and the water outside. Shower...

This was our sixth year staying at Ripplewood cabins in November. Stayed in cabin #2 from Nov. 3-6. Rain dampened our use of the deck this time but it was fun watching the river rise below our large windows as we ate. The quiet, cozy setting watching leaves fall into the river makes this a great spot. As mentioned by...

We had the cutest cabin (#2) set down from the road, right along the Big Sur River. Our deck overlooked the river and had a picnic table. Very rustic. perfect for 2. the cabin had a kitchenette, but we mostly dined out as we explored Big Sur. The only complaint I had is that the bathroom was small- the shower...

These cozy little cabins make for some of the best sleeping in -- EVER!! They are rustic and warm and quaint and clean and exciting! We had Cabin No. 9 I am pretty sure. Had a deck right on the river, little kitchenette, shower had plexiglass type roof so you could look up and see the trees! I recommend taking...

Loved this place! You are directly on Highway 1 and surrended by the reedwoods. We Even saw deer right Next to us! Stayed at cabin 17 which provides an own loggia. Given the relatively high price, I would expect a free breakfast at the associated cafe. All else, I can really recommend this place and will stay here again...a little...

Several years ago I stayed in one of the cabins along the river, nestled among the redwoods, and adored it. This year I couldn't get a river cabin and I was a little worried about staying in #17 up on the hill behind the store. It was still great. This is just a wonderful place all around. One review mentions...

I wasn't expecting much, something basic and rustic, but this place is great. So great, we came back after another night elsewhere. We had one of the tiny places first, 12b, which was really lovely, small, but really lovely, and ridiculously reasonable compared to other places in the area. The second night, we were in 17, a much bigger cabin,...

When you come to Big Sur, expect to take a step back and enjoy a slower pace of life. The location is great, right in the heart of the Andrew Molera state park and only minutes from one of the best restaurants around (The Bakery). The walls are paper thin in the cabins and it is a literal stones throw...
