We stayed in Yurt 7 that can hold 4 people! We had plenty of space! There was a queen bed and a queen futon, both were comfy and warm even on a cold night. There is a heater in the room but will only stay on for 1 hour at a time- but that was just fine. There is also... More

I went and stayed at Treebones Resort from 11/11/16-11/13/16 with my boyfriend. We stayed at site 101, which is a tent camping site. We had a GORGEOUS view of the ocean and we couldn't see other camping sites next to us the way the site was tucked away. Luckily, it wasn't too cold at night and it was really nice... More

I've lived most of my life in the San Francisco Bay Area, but never really visited Big Sur until recently. It's actually surprising how often we let the beauty in our own backyards go unexplored! But when I saw Treebones, I knew it was something I wanted to experience, so I booked a yurt...six months in advance. The staff tells... More

Treebones is an exceptionally special place and unlike any lodging experience out there. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The yurts are super cozy and romantic. The scenery is incredible. Our yurt overlooked the ocean. I will never forget the energy there and the healing vibes of the land itself. I hope to visit Treebones again soon!

We had to book about a year in advance but we got it when we wanted it. Nice coastal views, and a short drive into big sir. Don't blink cause you'll miss the turn into the place. The guys that run the place are awesome to. I wish they were pet friendly.

The staff are all wonderful. The views are beautiful. Unique experience. Yurts are spacious. The bed was very comfortable and warm. Our fireplace did not work the second night of our stay which is the only complaint I have, however, it wasn't that cold so not too much of an inconvenience. I loved hearing the sea lions barking day and... More

Treebones is a truly unique place to stay along the Big Sur coastline. The yurts are cozy and comfortable and made for a pleasant stay and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The property itself is lovely and has wonderful views of the ocean, mountains, and at night, the starry sky. We had an amazing meal at the sushi... More

Yurt Experience: you will not be able to park next to your yurt. But, once we were checked-in, they called for someone to meet us at our car with a golf cart. They placed our bags in the golf cart and drove us to our yurt. I immediately loved the cute double door entry into the yurt and the balcony... More

We stayed two days in #2 yurt and loved every minute of our stay. As owners of our own B & B we were impressed how clean everything was and so well kept. The grounds and rest. were so nice and all the people who worked there were so nice. The morning Belgium waffles were such a treat, we had... More

Negatives first: Our yurt (no 2) is close to a noisy generator attached to the main building. While the tents are not sound proof and you can hear other guests talking, this industrial noise took away from the tranquility. Avoid no 2! Breakfast was poor, especially compared to the excellent dinner. Positives: We loved the experience, the views, the tent... More

Thank you for sharing your recent experience with others. Yes it's true! Yurt #2 sits very close to the main lodge. (We let guests know this prior to arrival in our Confirmation Email, and also pre-inform in the email that they may hear extraneous noise) Yurt 2 is one of two yurts completely wheel chair accessible and as such is... Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Unusual and unique eco-lodge experience with immense expansive ocean views on Big Sur's remote and rugged South Coast. Guests enjoy cozy comforts in fully furnished tent-like yurts or choose a campsite and bring all their own tents/gear to camp. Resort 'feel' in rustic setting. Two popular restaurant venues with cozy, communal atmosphere boast great service, organic, locally sustained cuisine with same great views. Massage services, hiking information, and modern book & sundries store on premises. Sustainability statement: We are dedicated to providing an honest eco-experience. We are off grid and over 50% sustained by solar power. We recycle and utilize our onsite garden and chickens to complete a composting cycle. We are also human-sustained: Meaning..we serve tourists with our hearts and our hands and there are humans behind the service here..not robots! ... more   less
