We stayed here just one night to save ourselves a long drive home in the dark. Fabulous little random find on the internet that takes dogs. It was the coldest night of the year so far and we booked in around 4pm and never moved from the room (we had had an enormous lunch) except to walk the dog. We...

We have just returned from a 3 night stay and cannot recommend The Hostelrie highly enough. Our room was very comfortable and we were looked after very well by all the friendly staff. The food was excellent at both breakfast and dinner so we didn't go anywhere else, enjoying a different meal each evening. After a day out walking in...

We found The Hostelrie by chance doing a web search for a dog friendly hotel for a one night stopover. Often hotels advertise themselves as dog friendly but are not. The Hostelrie is a truly dog friendly hotel. Our room was excellent, four poster bed, large en suite shower room, very clean and comfortable. We had dinner and breakfast, the...

Lovely old building and very quirky.Owners and staff were very friendly. Good car parking and beer garden which must be great in the summer. Very quiet and peaceful setting in wonderful area. The bar food was very good and the local ales great. A good base to see the Wye valley and beyond.Would return.

We tried to have dinner here the previous night ( Wednesday!) but foolishly hadn't booked. The place was completely packed and the wait was estimated at over an hour, that was too late for us so we went elsewhere. The next day we returned for Lunch which was well cooked and reasonably priced, it is no surprise that the locals...

We hadn't booked but the accommodated us and our pooch Poppy in the bar area which was nice and cosy with a real old pub feel. I had the venison which cut through like butter and the best venison I've had. The rest of the family's meals were lovely too. Fish & chips, gnocchi in a pesto sauce & T...

Friendly, warm atmosphere. Good location for the Castle & Symonds Yat. Dog friendly but didn't smell of dogs.Room had tea & Coffee making facilities. Shower room not so good - in fact pretty awful - needs a complete refit to remove grouting. Food was excellent at both evening meal and breakfast with a wide variety of lovely home made produce.
