A friend and I just returned from a simply wonderful stay at Lower Wythall where we booked two rooms for 3 nights. The B&B is exceptionally comfortable, with cozy interiors set amidst beautiful natural surroundings. Sheila and Guy were keen to assist in every way to make sure that our trip was a success. As my friend was taking a weekend course, I appreciated all the extra measures they took to ensure I was able to see the sights on my own. The area around Lower Wythall is the quintessential picture of beautiful countryside towns, river valleys and greenery. Altogether a perfect trip. Thank you, Sheila and Guy!
We spent 2 nights in this delightful B&B which is a 16th house beautifully restored by the owners Sheila and Guy. We were greeted in a very friendly way by our hosts and treated to a delicious home made apple cake and tea in the garden. The room had loads of character and extremely comfortable and quiet. Again we were treated to some homemade flapjacks for the room. The breakfast was really delicious with a good choice of foods . The bread and jams were homemade and all the products were locally sourced. A great place to stay for visiting the Forest of Dean.A must ! Thanks to Sheila and Guy !
What a refreshingly perfect stay at Lower Wythall . White crisp linen on comfy beds. Fluffy white towels after a long hot bath, delicious breakfast on perfectly placed china and afternoon tea with homemade cake. Thank-you Shelia and Guy for being so attentive and caring we loved our stay with you and hope to return soon.
Just returned home from an amazing 3 nights stay at this beautiful B&B. Sheila and Guy were the most welcoming and friendly hosts, it felt more like we were staying with family. Our room (Sweet Alford) was very spacious, lovely and cool and immaculately clean, with wonderful views over garden. Cant remember the last time we slept so well, bed was so comfortable. The breakfasts were scrumptious, home made granola with fresh fruit salad and yoghurt, followed by full English (all locally sourced ingredients) for hubby, I had mixture of home made breads with home made jam and marmalade. As if this wasnt enough, we were welcomed home at the end of the day with a lovely pot of tea and home made cake, then more home made treats in our room. This was our first stay in a B&B and what a high standard has been set. Will definitely return, but in the winter so we can chill in front of the woodburner. Thank you both for making us so welcome, Steve and Caroline…
One of the top five b&b s I’ve stayed in over the last half century! All wonderful, from Sheila and Guy’s welcome to the lovely farmhouse itself with its super-comfortable bedrooms in beautiful surroundings to the most delicious breakfasts. We also enjoyed the delicious homemade teatime treats. Ideal place for r&r.
