We have been in Patio Lodge for just 2 days, but we've loved it very much. The place is fantastic, very quiet and peaceful, the room was nice and well equipped, We're arrived in the night because of a delay of the flight, but they was there waiting for us with a very good dinner...The owner was very kind, he showed us all the best of the island in one day, and Faial is really beautiful. My daughter also made a horse trail with a very nice guide, and she was very happy!!! Finally, I would come back tomorrow to patio lodge!!!
Our family loved the horseback riding to the beach! Dinner was lots of meat and a bit overcooked for our group of 14 parents and teenagers. Wonderfully nice, welcoming service. Did not stay at property.
Faial was the third island we visited and the Patio was our third accommodation. We stayed in the patio garden room with a mini kitchen and wood burning stove. The staff goes out of their way to see to small details and to be sure that your needs are met. Carla made us a wonderful dinner one evening and brought it to our room. We also enjoyed a beautiful horseback ride, led by Laura. The only thing missing was other travelers to meet and visit with during breakfast, as we were the only guests at the lodge during our stay. I suspect breakfast may have been simpler than it is when there are many to cook for, but understand completely. We mostly missed meeting others as that is part of our enjoyment in staying at lodges and bed/breakfasts such as this. We would return again and would recommend the Patio to anyone without hesitation. It is a space where one can be active but also can sit back and relax. Wish we had had more time to spend there!…
My daughter and I visit the Patio for 5 days to do a horseback trip. There was not a thing that we didn’t love about the entire experience. The accommodations were lovely and comfortable. Nina and Carla cooked some fantastic meals. Our guides Laura and Corrine were safe, fun and knowledgeable about the horses and the island. Victor and Anja were great hosts and all the animals were fabulous. We loved our horses, Princessa and Boneca. The dogs, Nina and Lucky and Bally, were lots of fun and we loved Max the cat. The horse trips were fun with beautiful scenery. I can’t say enough good about it.
My husband and I just left and we already miss it! Faial was our second stop on our Azorean honeymoon and I am so glad we stayed at Patio! Victor and Anja are great hosts and have created an amazing place to take in the beauty of the island! They are extremely accommodating, my husband is not much of a rider so for our first trip they allowed us to do one and a half hours with him and then we dropped him off and continued on for another hour and a half! I also did a 3 hour ride on completely different trails and both rides were with our guide Teresa who was fantastic, not to mention how well trained all of the horses are (I very much enjoyed Freida, she is a wonderful calm horse and we really bonded over our two rides)! The rooms are clean and comfortable stocked with a mini bar and they also provided a laundry service! We had breakfast with them all three mornings and had dinner twice, all meals were so delicious and they have a wonderful staff! Although we rented a car they do offer pick up form the airport and Cedros is only about 25/30 minutes away! They are located right on the water and have beautiful views! If we ever make it back we will definitely be staying with them again!…
