Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We went there for a meal one Sunday in October. We had not booked a table but they found us one in the bar area. It is a very friendly place with great views over to the beach and sea. The Sunday menu had a good selection of food at a reasonable price. I had the prawn and white fish linguine and my husband had the skate . Both meals were very tasty and very filling. A lot of local families where also using the restaurant and bar and the atmosphere was very friendly. We would certainly recommend having a meal here.

We had a very restful week at The Driftwood. The Staff were charming and engaging, the food at breakfast and evening dinner in The Bistro, excellent value for money. The housekeeping was a very high standard. Thank you all

This is a fantastic Inn and it is hard to find fault with any aspect of our stay : Richard and all the staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble, the rooms are comfortable and we were lucky with the weather so spent plenty of time relaxing on the balcony and watching the ever changing sea view. The rear garden is a great morning suntrap with comfy seating, the pool looked lovely but only for those hardy cold water swimmers! The breakfasts were tasty and plentiful and the food in both the Bistro and Drifty's bar was delicious with a varied menu and specials - it also seemed popular with locals as well as the guests which is always a telling sign. The only improvement we could suggest would be a bathroom refurb with a power shower - as others have said, the water pressure is very poor. Guernsey itself is a beautiful island with a laid back vibe and we look forward to returning to the Island and the beautiful Driftwood Inn.

We had four nights at the Driftwood inn. An extra night being that there were no sailings on the day of our departure. The staff were incredibly friendly & accommodating. We had two evenings meals & breakfast every morning. All delicious. The decor is fresh & tasteful. I would definitely recommend a stay & for Guernsey thought it was good value for money. We had our e bikes & is only a 30 minute cycle to St Peters Port.

Another fantastic week spent here and thats down to the amazing staff who are always so very helpful. This could very well be our annual get away location, we like it so much. Rooms are light and clean, the only downside is the en-suite which although kept clean are dated and the shower pressure is poor. The menus are different in the bar and the bistro so there’s plenty of choice and the pizzas are really good. There’s a great breakfast menu too but we'd love to see croissants and porridge included (Richard/Jamie take note!). Buses from outside here will get you to St. Peter Port and are hourly so a car is a bonus if you want to see more of this fantastic island. Once again we’d like to thank the staff for making our stay so enjoyable, especially Mariana, who took the time to chat to us and all the other girls and guys who work tirelessly serving and keeping the place running. Our thanks also go to owners, Jamie and Suzi and manager Richard, keep up the good work, hope to see you all again next year.

Room Tip: Plenty of parking, it can be a bit windy as this is the west coast. Buses hourly. 25-30 minutes...

For my first time ever in Guernsey, I didn’t know what to expect. Upon arrival at the hotel, we were greeted with the most spectacular sunset. We were a late check-in, and it had turned out that one of the rooms wasn’t made a twin, which was promptly rectified and we were treated to some on-the-house drinks with our dinner as an apology for the hassle. Particular shoutout to the tall skinny guy with the beard who I believe was called Richard(?) (That was the name on our receipt after dinner, so we assumed that was his name). We saw him pretty much every day and made sure our experience was the best we’d ever have. He was also the one who personally ensured our rooms were up to standard before checking in and checked in with us throughout our stay. Another shoutout to the housekeeping team, who regularly serviced the room while we were out exploring guernsey with über fresh towels and lovely made beds ready for our return. Unfortunately, no experience is perfect, as we were staying at a time where there are thousands of insects which come inland off the seaweed looking for light and food. There wasn’t a moment during the night outside where we weren’t attacked or bitten by them. This isn’t the hotels fault, but I think some additional anti-insect measures during this time would be appropriate such as some industrial fly zappers which use UV/Blacklight and electricity to kill them. The showers were lovely, and were the perfect temperature, however the water pressure made it feel like I was being rained on instead of showered. Perhaps something that can be looked into. I myself am a Hotel Receptionist, so I understand and massively appreciate the work these people do, and they didn’t fail to impress. Thank you for making our trip so fantastic

During a weeks stay in Guernsey, the Driftwood was the second of two hotels in which we stayed - it was definitely the better of the two. The Driftwood offers a friendly welcome from all of its staff. The room was comfortable with a wonderful seaview. The breakfast was delicious and it was wonderful to have cooked items cooked fresh to order. We really enjoyed coming back at the end of the day and sitting outside with a drink. The hotel offers excellent value for money. The Driftwood shows a clear understanding of what guests are looking for in a stay away from home. (Four stars instead of five because the bathroom needs a makeover.)

Go regularly for meals, thought we’d try a staycation. Relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff, immaculate rooms and food’s amazing! All extremely clean & tidy. Reasonably priced and definitely value for money. Will definitely go again!

A beautifully decorated hotel with excellent staff. The location is perfect and on a very efficient bus route. Pembroke Beach is a must visit along the stunning coastline. Sadly the previous comment about the shower and water pressure is still a problem. It’s shocking. After a day on the beach we couldn’t get all the sand off us!
