I wanted to take a bicycle trip along the Telemarkkanal and Google led me to the camping for my bike rental. I got a terrific atb, strong and fast. For 225 NOK a day, I think that's a great deal. Best of all, for 20 NOK I bought a map of one of the routes Telemarkkanal Camping has set up in the area. The Motbakken route is a wonderful, diverse 60 km tour of the region. As a bonus, you see the most important locks of the Telemarkkanal. Thanks for the great day Telemarkkanal Camping!
There is a good plan for parking your mobil Home or caravan. Even guests in tent will find find some nice spots along the Telemark canal. Toilets and bathroom a bit worn - guess a new service building will be coming soon. Short way into the little center of Lunde with some shops and restaurant.
This was our last stop at the end of three weeks holiday touring Norway in our campervan/bobil. The site was in the process of being improved and enlarged, with more hardstanding gravel pitches, and good landscaping. A large wooded area had been cleared, and plans in place to build a new facilities block with washrooms, toilets and showers. When we visited there were only temporary mobile toilet/shower units, but these were very clean and met the needs. The plus side of this site is that it is right on the side of the Telemark Canal, and next to the Telemark Canal Park that includes the landing stages by the locks. A timely visit, and you can see the two steamers on their respective journeys east and west, each day. The campsite is well laid out with both double and single pitches, each with electricity point, water tap, and drain. There is a good easily accessible motorhome waste water, black and grey, emptying station conveniently located on the site, as well as chemical toilet waste point. The site has canoes/kayaks and bicycles for hire. Prices were the lowest we paid in three weeks of using other sites around Norway. The pleasant town of Lunde is only 1km away and you can walk alongside the canal, or by footpath from the park. We found two good sized supermarkets there.…
We stayed three nights at this campsite and can only recommend it. It is very cheap, nice location by the canal, and very clean. The facilities are good and the supermarket in town is only 10 minutes walk away. The canoe we hired was in good shape. We spent a lovely time there.
This place had really grown and developed since we were last here about ten years ago. It's bigger and nicely landscaped. We camped right next to the canal and watched the boats go past. We came with our own canoe, but the campsite also rent out canoes and bikes and it seems to be a popular offer as we saw a lot of their canoes on the canal during our trip. The toilet and washing up facilities were fine, but showers were a bit hard to find. They could do with being close to the toilet block. There were a lot of mosquitoes in the evening, which they can't do much about, but creating a large pond of still water in the middle of the campsite might not have helped. The staff were very friendly and helpful and it's a very short walk to the town.
