Enjoyed a lovely two night stay at the Walkabout Lodge. Yes the rooms and bathrooms are showing their age, but they are comfortable and the air conditioning worked a treat. The breakfast was nice, pool was lovely and the restaurant/bar excellent with a nice selection with very reasonable prices for Nhulunbuy. Staff are friendly and helpful. Location is excellent -...

Melissa was very helpful with our very late check in. The rooms were nice and quiet with good aircon. Pool is large and deep, the restaurant food was also excellent. What a great place to relax and unwind. Went fishing with a charter and they cook your fish for you, loved it. Thanks Melissa

I stayed at the Walkabout with my husband for four nights. I am working in Nhulunbuy and he came up for a visit. The rooms, whilst clean, are TINY and the furniture of dark stained cane and the floral bedspreads took me back to 1987. The concertina door on our bathroom (hint: there's not enough room for a standard, inward...

After spending two weeks on a small ship traversing the north of Australia from Broome and not really being able to swim due to crocodiles and stingers, it was a relief to be able to use the pool at this motel. The rooms were small, but clean and comfortable and the bathroom fine. Ate here: dinner - average; breakfast -...

After reading numerous reviews my expectations weren't very high but i realised due its locality expectations would't be very high. How wrong i was, everything from there cleanliness and comfort of the room through to the quality of the couldn't be faulted. My only suggestion is that if mobility is an issue ask for a ground floor room.

This hotel reminds me of the old school tropical architecture- louvred, ceiling fans and a piano in the foyer. It's an older hotel but kept really clean. The best thing about this place is the staff- friendly and so helpful. They really are a credit to this place. Clean and compact rooms, pool and restaurant where you can choose from...

Four nights here for work and was very glad this was our accommodation. The staff were all very friendly and more than accommodating. Dinners were delicious, might suggest more salad options for lunch(but that's just me). Pool was fantastic, rooms were clean and well serviced. If half the hotels in capital cities had the hospitality skills of Shirley, Jimmy/James and...

I stayed 4 nights at the Walkabout for business in the area and the staff couldn't do enough. Lovely pool to cool off in at the end of the day - good food for both lunch and dinner and rooms were clean and tidy. Air conditioning worked well if a little Noisy. Pub next door tacky so avoid that otherwise...

We frequented the lodge for meals and found it expensive and unpolished. air conditioned and comfortable seating is a plus, having a beer or a tea is great but not from the meal perspective.Sometimes venues and icons ride on the coat tails longevity and name, and then forget to keep themselves relevant and charge rates not in sync with the...

Clearly the best available, Walkabout provides a reasonable standard of clean accommodation, friendly efficient service, an excellent pool and surrounds and better than expected meals, although the included continental breakfast was just OK. The site is quite large and includes a camping/caravan etc ground at the rear. We were here both on our own and then with an Outback Spirit...
