Traditional Bhutanese hotel overlooking the Phobjikha valley and wintering grounds of rare black-necked cranes. Rooms are spacious and warm, fronted by a long veranda where you can enjoy the view.Staff is courteous and friendly. Convivial dinner around the traditional wood burning stove with stones on the top to keep the heat. Great for toasting bread in the morning.

The location is on the foothills of a mountain forest, so its awesome. The hotel crew were nice and quite welcoming! Rooms are quite large and nicely decorated with most basic amenities available. Bathroom ok. They dont have central heating and the small fireplace did not help much in -5 degress. However the hotel provided hot water bags during the...

We recently spent two nights here in order to see the black necked cranes, and we were not disappointed. Our room was very spacious and had a wonderful sitting area overlooking the valley and that also allowed the warmth of the sun to help heat the room. We had a wood stove and an electric heater in our room (thanks...

I stayed here for three weeks. The staff are lovely and will go out of their way to help you. The dinner is pretty standard restaurant food, not spicy like the local cuisine. The valley only got electricity a few years ago and there are lots of power outages, and no internet. The phone network was recently upgraded from 2G...

We visited in Winter & it had begun to snow on our journey there. Despite our guide phoning ahead, our room was very cold as the stove had only just been lit. It kept going out & we had to get a person to come & relight, but the fire never really got going well, just smouldered without putting out...

The Dewachen Hotel, almost as beautiful as the Probjika Valley, has great features and, depending on the time of year, at least one drawback. Set back from what approximates the main road in the Probjika Valley, the Dewachen Hotel features classic Bhutanese architecture with modern flares. The lobby and rooms are tastefully styled and furnished. Large glass windows and balconies...

Arrived at this charming hotel in the Phobjika Valley after a long dusty journey and felt at home right away. The hotel is in typical Bhutanese style (as almost all hotels in Bhutan are) ...lots of warm colour and lots of wood. We had nice comfy rooms with a Bukhari Stove for heating. Beautiful woven bed covers typical of the...

It can easily be considered the best hotel in Phobjikha valley. The place is beautifully located and serves as a wonderful peaceful get away option. The valley is famous for its migratory Black Necked Cranes and one can walk down or drive in to see the magnificent birds. The hotel is tastefully built with traditional Bhutanese infrastructure. We visited in...

That it was full even in the low season is a testament to its popularity. We enjoyed a great 2 days here and wished we had longer. The hotel is full of character, and characters. It offered everything we needed but provided so much more in terms of the welcome, the views and the lovely rooms.
