Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Excellent. Considering the very cold weather there was suitable provision made for heating. Arrangements were also made for transport from and to the Cape Town airport on my behalf.
It is an easy 16 minute walk to the Dept. of Home Affairs at Maynard Mall where I found the staff to be efficient and hard working.

We have now stayed in both the Cottage and the Studio, and both really do "tick all the boxes", both are furnished beautifully and have everything needed from the bedroom through to the kitchen. Whilst the Cottage is more spacious inside, the Studio has a larger outside space leading onto the garden which was great for sitting out for breakfast, however, both are more than ample in size.
The garden is beautiful and very peaceful, together with a pool, being away from the road (which is quiet anyway), resulted in great nights sleep.
The drive from the Airport is straightforward, and quick - we took the N2 to the M3 which is really fast. Overall the location is perfect, with easy routes either into the city, or past Kirstenbosch, Hout Bay etc.
Cheryl was always on hand to help us out with any queries, and with her team, made our stay both perfect and memorable.
We recommend Chambery as the very best place to stay in Cape Town, and really do look forward to our next visit. David & Dawn

Our third stay, and second in the Studio, and confirm still the very best place to stay in Cape Town. We really enjoyed our time in the Studio, especially the ability to sit outside for our morning coffee, and evening glass of wine, and the regular visits from the dogs. The Studio was again spotlessly clean, and everything was perfect. Thank you Cheryl and the dogs - we miss you all.

All our comforts were met at Chambery it was the most lovely experience and one we very much want to repeat. Cheryl was the most amazing hostess and her homestead is a gem.

We have stayed two years in a row, the first for 8 weeks and have already booked for 2018. The studio at Chambery provides everything we need as our home from home, being in a lovely residential location, a beautiful setting with excellent facilities and nothing is too much trouble for the landlady and her staff to ensure our happiness and comfort.

Try to book to stay in September, October, December, January, April or May as regulars book from year to year in November, February & March & you will be unlikely to be able to make a Booking.
Chambery is situated in a quiet Street, but is within walking distance to the Post Office & good Restaurants in Kenilworth & Claremont are not far away.

I stayed at Chambery for 5 nights and had the most wonderful time in the beautiful home of the lovely Cheryl Suter, who is an excellent host and cooks superb breakfasts to start off the day. I stryed in the loft room which was spacious and fully equipped with tea and coffee making facilities and a well stocked mini bar (something you don't find in B&B's in the UK. I will definitely stay at Chambery when I next visit to Cape Town, which I hope won't be too long.

We stayed at the cottage behind the main house. The cottage has it's own garden, patio and braai. It is clean, modern, very quiet and secluded. The owner takes excellent care of her guests. Definitely recommended !

See comments above. For accommodation in Cape Town southern suburbs location hard to beat. Cheryl is a charming and kind hostess. We needed to be close to Rondebosch for family reasons but location is very good generally. Lovely garden and pool. Nice fully equipped cottage. Only downside is lack of access to washing machine for a long stay but Cheryl does offer a laundry service if required.
