Red Deer Village Holiday Park is often commended for its cleanliness, with specific accolades for the pristine shower blocks and well-kept grounds. Guests enjoy the friendly atmosphere and the convenience of picnic tables, although opinions vary regarding the size of the shower amenities.
Despite its prime location with easy access to Glasgow, there is some consensus that the park is somewhat overpriced. Service is typically well-regarded, especially the attentive staff, though there have been occasional concerns raised about reception.

Hand on heart- please don't take judgement on what you read with the bad reviews. This site honestly is phenomenal. The staff were so friendly. All the way from booking over the phone (the lady was so helpful, friendly and would answer absolutely anything, absolutely truthfully. When on site, we arrived after 6.30pm, and we told the site this would be the case so we got access code, clear instructions to where we could put up our tent and helpful information for our stay. While on site, we rang the number to ask for a couple of things and the youngish female staff member was very quick and efficient driving from Glasgow to site to help as much as she could. If you are camping this is absolutely amazing, minimal noise, grass was clean and easy to pitch a tent into, the facilities all worked and were clean to such an amazing standard. The fellow campers in tents and campervans were most helpful. We are already looking at booking for a longer visit in a couple of weeks. Really loved every single second of this mini camping holiday. The dog felt relaxed and the whole site offered so much for such amazing value.
Strangely wasn't that cold for the middle of September

We’ve just come back from here after two nights camping with a young puppy. For the first time camping in a tent as a couple and with the young pup, we couldn’t have lucked out with a better place. The lack of area to pitch was great for us and being so close to the electric pitches with motorhomes let us have nice friendly conversations with people and a sense of safety.
The site was nice and secure throughout and the only intruder I saw was a fox walking around by the over 50’s village - nowhere near us which was a bonus especially with a puppy.
The toilets and shower facilities were impeccably clean and only a two minute walk from the tent which is a bonus. Also the staff we did encounter were really friendly and helpful.
I feel the only downside was the price we paid for a slither of grass that just seemed spare when the electric pitches were placed. Even though it did give us the sense of security, we did feel out of place and did question if this was the top field part that we were meant to be on. I hope perhaps in the new development that is being built on site, it takes into consideration of perhaps the missed opportunity of the camping element and expanding it further especially for the summer months.
We do aim to come back soon as we do love the site especially with currently having a small puppy with us and with us being newish to camping.

Unfortunately the least enjoyable of all the campsites we stayed in, in the 5 weeks we were in Scotland.
Bathrooms and shower areas are tired and need attention, booking process was lengthy and laundry facilities were expensive at £4.50 for wash AND the same for dryer. These required tokens and options for shorter wash available but for same cost??
Could be a really pretty campsite as the grounds were lovely but not a patch on others for the £.

We apologise you feel this way. Our tokens allow a set amount of time on washing machines, so we are unable to set a function where different tokens allow different wash times and prices. We feel our booking process only asks required information, and then gives you a general idea of the park and area. We would not have believed that any of this information would be unwelcome.

No one to greet us when we arrived we had to follow directions on the email they sent us, five star welcome? NO
We parked up where instructed in nothing more than a car park with hook up, no awning allowed although there wouldn’t have been room anyway!
Settled in for the evening all blinds down however there was a bright light behind us. We weren’t told we were on a flight path so disturbed night. Woke to what we thought was a large motorbike. Only to open the blinds to find a car parked on our pitch!!! Which had a burst or very noisy exhaust! When you pay £38 per night you don’t expect to share your pitch, which turned out to be a worker of the site! The morning continues with the ‘bin march’ for over a hour it was ‘bin day’ Perhaps communal bins would be a quieter option? Building works were also being carried out (we were informed about this) which have been ongoing for many years so a reduction in pitch fees would be appropriate.
We went to reception to make a complaint only to get sorry, sorry, sorry.
We asked to be moved to the top park which to be fair was much quieter and quite pleasant.
The shower facilities in both areas can do with some upgrades.
We paid five star prices for frankly nothing better than two star experience!
No facilities for families or adults. Not a holiday park in our opinion.

We are sorry you did not enjoy your stay. After covid hit the tourism industry hard, we are still doing what we can to rebuild our team, this is why we are not able to have someone here at all times and also why we send out emails with instructions on what to do when you arrive on the weekends. Awnings are allowed on the top pitches if booked in advance, on this occasion we had a large booking that took up the top pitches and it was a bottom pitch that had been booked, we were more than happy for you to move up when there was space to do so. I deeply apologise regarding the car parking on your pitch, this should never have happened. It was one of our other guests from our Chalets, who regrettably parked in the wrong place. We also find our Chalet/Static guests appreciate having their own bins, which is why we do not have communal bins, unfortunately we have no control over when these are emptied. We appreciate your feedback and will take everything you have said on board to ensure our guests going forward have a pleasant stay.

It is near Glasgow and Motorway links but that is the best I can say about it. We went with our touring caravan. Full payment had to be made upon booking. The pitches were very small and turning was very difficult but it was the building works which were horrendous. They were just a couple of yards away and went on from 8.00am to 5.30pm. The workmen came to use the tables next to the pitches and also to use the toilets. Reception was permanently closed and when we telephoned we were told that it was detailed in the booking confirmation which you did not receive until after you had made your non-refundable payment and on the website which we checked and it was not. The shower block was clean but the showers were tiny and out of three showers in the ladies’ block one was not working, which you did not find out until you were inside and undressed. There are no facilities at all for those with mobility difficulties. Being no Reception you can not find any details about the surrounding area. If we had known about these problems we would not have booked and paid £30 per night.

We are sorry to hear you did not enjoy your stay. It is stated on our website in numerous areas regarding building works may be carried out, including the book now page, rates and offers page, terms and conditions page and booking confirmation email. Our touring pitches are standard size with ample hardstanding space and electric hook-up available. All guests were sent an email detailing that the office would be closed, and how to get in touch if you had any queries. We do have facilities for guests with mobility difficulties; if you had enquired regarding these facilities, someone would have happily advised. They are also pointed out on our site map, which you receive as part of your booking confirmation email. Also as part of your map on your booking confirmation email is a map of Stepps, bus and train contacts and helpful phone numbers. We apologise about the shower not working, and will rectify this immediately. Finally, we apologise about the disturbances, however our picnic benches are communal areas for anyone to sit outside, and contractors should not be made to feel unwelcome or penalised for wishing to have their lunch outside. However, we will advise that some customers are not happy about this and that they should take their lunch elsewhere.

I camp at Red Deer Holiday Park on a semi-regular basis when I am in the Glasgow area and it's absolutely perfect for my needs. To be honest, I'm probably not the best person to ask to rate the entire site as I only bring a basic tent and use only the shower & toilet facilities but I have never had a single issue with anything being less than it should be (and I've been coming here for 12 years), all the facilities I have used have been spotlessly clean on every visit and the site's location within easy walking distance of both trains & buses into Central Glasgow couldn't be better. The Top Field, just beyond where those Caravans are parked in your thumbnail picture, where Tents are pitched is high up enough to be almost 100% safe from flooding during inclement weather and the main gate with the digital combination lock ensures a high level of site security on an evening and overnight. I would say that I'd recommend this site to others but I already do!

Unfair to call this a campsite really; it’s a residential village that allows you to camp on the edge. Minimal facilities; office was shut on Thursdays meaning we couldn’t purchase tokens to use the laundry (which is also shut 9-10am, and there is no provision for detergent). The women’s shower block near the top field contains three very poor showers; one was out of order, the other two wouldn’t drain so I stood in a tray of dirty tepid water for my shower. Other guests had written on the notice board earlier in the week, reporting the same issue but no progress. I went to the office to report it but it was shut. The showers were the type where you have to press the button every ten seconds to continue the flow; I’m sure the owners would say this is in the aim of water conservation, but they’d save more water if they fixed all of the leaking sink taps instead.
Really expensive for what it provided (most expensive campsite we stayed in during our tour of Scotland). Other campers were very friendly though.

We are sorry you didn't enjoy your experience while staying with us and will take your feedback on board. Unfortunately, we are aware of the shower issue and had this booked in to be sorted but our experienced head of maintenance came down with covid and decided for the safety of our visitors and other staff members he would take time off work. This is now being tackled this week, as are any leaking taps. Although, we are open 9-5 on weekdays, we have 2 offices to cover and the front office is the busiest, laundry tokens can be collected from here also. Due to individual needs and possible allergies we do not supply washing detergent as it is not possible to cater for everyone, which is why there is no mention of us supplying this on our website. Our team work hard to provide the best experience possible, and are always on hand to provide help and advice. We hope you will be willing to give us another chance if you are looking for a convenient location near Glasgow.

Hi!
We have a motorhome and we stayed one night in order to visit Glasgow.
The holiday park is very beautiful and clean.
We had a hardstanding pitch with electricity
We usually use our own facilities. So, we didn't use toilet or shower of the camping.
The motorhome service point is well organised having the grey/ black waters disposal and fresh water in the same area.
Veronica was very helpful and gave us proper clues so that everything would run smoothly.
It was a rainy and cold day and, that's why, we took a taxi to the center/Cathedral of Glasgow, the 12 pounds we paid being very well spent.
We surely recommend this place!

Stayed in a campervan at the back of their site. Small area for camping/campervan. Had our own pitch which was okay. Was good location to get into Glasgow, however the amenities were below average. My partner had a shower which was running brown water and you had to press the button every 5 seconds to keep the water running. £37.50 a night is very overpriced for this pitch as the night before and after we stayed in different locations for a fraction of the price and the location, amenities and services were a lot better. Wouldn’t stay again unless prices came down dramatically
