I stayed here in July with my family upon returning from Spain. The hotel was lovely with courteous staff eager to please. As a wheelchair user the staff gave me the "Jackdaw" room I know from talking to the staff that they were initially unsure but was pleased to reassure them that the room was great for wheelchair users with a shower stool and an adapted bathroom which was well thought out. The food both evening meal and breakfast was served with a smile. I would no doubt stay here again if I am ever in the area and have no hesitations in recommending that you stay here.
I spent 2 nights at The Upperhouse, each in a different room. The first night was a twin room, very good size and comfortable and the second was a double room which included a balcony. Each room was clean, had lovely bathrooms and generally great facilities. I was attending a wedding and every member of staff I interacted with was lovely, this is a massive plus considering the stress of the times we’re in. The food and service was perfect, making my stay and the wedding even more memorable. I would 100% recommend the venue and we will be returning when they reopen
Delightful setting. Hotel full of character but with just the right degree of modernisation where required. Spacious room with a well provisioned bathroom. My minimum requirements are cleanliness, quiet, a comfortable bed and a decent shower. All boxes well ticked with the addition of the ambience and good service and food. If I have one very small criticism is that the choice of dishes on the dinner menu could have been more varied to meet wider tastes. That said my meal was excellent as was the choice of wines.
Visited The Upper House for one night and will definitely be back! Stunning setting in beautiful grounds, welcoming and attentive staff, well positioned rooms and good food. Sitting in the panelled lounge with a gin and tonic was just what the doctor ordered!
Super afternoon tea - all homemade and very fresh, beautifully presented. Plenty of pots of tea. Member of staff "Lee" was very attentive without being intrusive- very friendly and polite. Covid requirements in place. Couldnt fault this visit. Highly recommend.
