Took my parents for christmas lunch and they absolutely loved it.The service was very good. The hotel is lovely and the views from the dining room are wonderful. We had the melon starter and one had the butternut and prawn tartlet. All of us thoroughly enjoyed it.We all opted for the turkey main which was delicious, resulting in four empty plates. For dessert three... More

Mention Stoke on Trent and most people think of Potteries, bottle kilns and Wedgwood. So be prepared to be surprised with Upper House, set in 90 acres of lush, verdant grounds, with the house beautifully maintained and first class silver service. I will mention the food at this point as it was melt-in-the-mouth delicious. So please keep your imagery of... More

We are a group of friends that go away for a weekend twice a year and have spent many a night in hotels around the uk. We had a wonderful weekend at the Upper House Hotel, clean & comfortable rooms, fantastic food, great service, the use of our own small private dining room and to top it off a cosy... More

Stayed for 1 night. Staff very helpful and the quiet lounge is wonderful with the log fire. Had sandwiches and wine in front of the fire Bliss!!! Had to rush off on the Sunday but will definitely be returning to enjoy a walk in the grounds

Had a one night stay at this friendly hotel. Located in excellent grounds and would be good to come back in the summer to enjoy the outdoor seating area's. Staff friendly and helpful. The original building is stunning with many of the original features and a wood burning fireplace in the living room. Various extensions have been tastefully added for... More

Very comfortable room, as we have come to rely upon. Friendly staff, and excellent evening meal. Best of all (for us), a very quiet night's sleep. We'll be back next year when we revisit the area, and many thanks.

lovely hotel, a great welcome and very professional service. the room was clean and had everything you needed. the bed very comfy. i think it had been recently decorated. the only small downside was breakfast, they ran out of essentials, such as marmalade. although the cooked breakfast was very nice.

We were a bit wary after reading the reviews but we were welcomed with a smile and shown to our room. The room was lovely with a recently refurbished bathroom. I would have liked a dressing table with a good light and mirror and a power plug nearby. All these things were in the room but not together - the... More

Booked for family Sunday lunch, arrived a couple of minutes early and were taken straight to our table which was very clean and well presented, although the dining room lacked any ambience. The waitress arrived to take our order and when asked if the Sunday Roast Beef was ‘pink’ seemed somewhat baffled by the question – no it was not... More

Booked and arrived on time. Took a seat in the lounge and dirty coffee cups on the tables. Eventually they were moved. Walkers came in with rucksacks when there were several elderly people there to dine and all appropriately dressed. Shown to table after ordering, rather draughty. Soup came, no heat in it at all. Roast beef came with three... More
