Friendliest welcome ever from Lorraine on reception when we arrived, so lovely to see a cheery face upon arrival. Rooms were immaculate and spacious with everything we needed. I met a housekeeper in the corridor and she asked me if we needed anything to just let her know, she came and showed me how to put the heating off if it got too hot. The late shift receptionist was also very friendly and helpful, we were early for dinner and she said we could just go in.
Food in the restaurant was fabulous and everyone cleared their plates, the salad on my plate was so fresh and crisp, absolutely perfect. The staff were so attentive and really accommodating to find us a table that suited a wheelchair, nothing was a problem, the staff here are all a credit to the hotel and restaurant.
We slept really well in the amazing beds and then had a great breakfast before checking out. Fantastic choice of breakfast and the sausages were first class for taste. I would highly recommend this hotel and will certainly be returning in the near future. What a fantastic stay we had and thank you to everyone for making it a very memorable one ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Okay so I've never reviewed a Premier Inn before as they are all pretty much the same. But prior to arrival read some of the poor reviews on here (including the last one) and got a bit worried. So just wanted to write this to put people's minds at rest really if, like us, you have read some of the recent bad reviews.
Myself, my mum and my 3 and a half month old baby stopped here last night. Elaine on the reception desk gave us a lovely warm and friendly welcome. They say first impressions are everything and she gave a lovely first impression. I even asked her where the nearest shop was so I could go get some water and she told me not to be silly and that she would go and get me a jug of iced water from the bar and bring it to my room. Which she did. Very helpful :)
The room was clean, quiet and bed was comfortable. We didn't hear a sound past 10pm. View from the room was lovely and to say the hotel is quite close to a road, heard hardly any traffic noise. The kettle was so spotless inside I could see my face in it (very impressed with that as I rely on the kettle for warm sterilised water for my baby and his bottles).
We had the continental breakfast the next morning and again, no complaints. The lady doing the breakfast (think she was some sort of a manager) was helpful and friendly too.
All in all a pleasant stay for the 3 of us :)

Attending a wedding at the nearby Forbes of Kingennie so a perfect location for us at a very reasonable price (booked in advance). Quiet room afforded an excellent sleep with breakfasts and an evening meal all being good quality and value - the sirloin steak was exceptional considering the price.
All staff were efficient and friendly.

Stayed here for a week with work with 2 others , very outdated , stayed in a few premiers over the years and this is the worst , not clean , bathroom covered with black mould , carpets really worn and dirty , sounds like staying in the room next to you with noise, , staff are nice at reception but when you go for food english accent woman was very abrupt, food was very poor as my colleague was ill after second night and so was I !!! But was told not the food according to lady , well it was either that or the dirty unclean room in my eyes ! had to suffer the rest of week ill , all in all cheap cheap cheap poor poor poor

We were attending an event at the very close by Forbes of Kingennie, this was a perfect location for us.
First of all, it’s right off the dual carriageway but very quiet. There’s a Costa, McDonalds and Dobbies Garden Centre in the same little estate. There’s a sign in the window showing they have an Automated Defib on site which is fantastic. The man on reception was very cheerful, friendly and welcoming and had us checked in really quickly. Working in a hotel myself it was a surprise and bit of nostalgic throwback to be given a physical key rather than a card!
The room was large, at the far end and closest to the dual carriageway but we heard no road noise at all. It had everything you’d expect, there’s plenty storage space, kettle, hairdryer and TV. The room was clean and bed very comfortable, while the bathroom was clean it was really quite shabby, parts of the furnishings peeling/flaking away.
There was a fan and I believe air conditioning in the room but we didn’t need to use either, had a good nights sleep. Checkout was quick and easy.
Basically it’s desperately in need of investment for a refurbishment, it does feel like it was last done up 20 years ago. Even still, the room was clean and comfy. Given I paid £46 for it, I really can’t complain - it would just be nicer if it were brought up to date.
The staff are what make the place though. As I said, the guy who checked us in was really cheerful. We didn’t really have any interaction with the night staff though, looked like he was busy with a few check ins when we got back. The housekeeping staff we spoke to in the morning was lovely too though.
In summary, it’s not a 5* and doesn’t pretend to be. It’s a comfortable, quiet place to stay with good transport links and a few places to eat a stones throw away.

Pleasant hotel in a reasonably quiet setting although there was the Brewers Fabre. The room was adequate and clean but looked in need of some refurbishment. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful when we asked for extra tea, milk, toilet rolls and towels. This happened due to their current policy of only putting one hand but two bath towels in the room and cleaning every Four days, I guess due to Covid restrictions. Our stay was pleasant and we would visit again.

We left a hotel in Brechin a day early and booked the Premier Inn hoping for a better experience sadly it wasn't a great deal better. Very old and tired the hot tap in the sink didn't work and the TV wouldn't stay tuned in. The room was clean and functional but looked shabby. Breakfast wasn't as promised no choice of eggs, no vegetarian and service was almost non existent. I've stayed at a few Premier Inns this was by far the worst and £96 room only vastly overpriced. We saw a member of staff when we left and she said we should have asked as they have new cables for the TV's. It was late we were tired and how were we to know? Why not just put new cables on?

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights, great service from friendly staff, very comfortable hotel, our room was on the ground floor which suited me as I have mobility issues.
the room was facing the fields and was extremely quiet. during these times if you require the room to be cleaned or for any change of towels etc you need to ask, staff will not enter your room without you requesting them to do so. The only request we made was for additional pillows, the rooms are a good size and the beds are comfy.
The heating I found a bit tricky to get working but it did work eventually.
The baths I find are a bit hard to get in and out of, however the shower and the bath are both handy.
One thing that did bug me was the vending machine was supposed to be contactless payment but it was a hit or a miss. the WiFi worked OK in the hotel there is a free setup for a payment could be made for super fast, which I thought was a bit pricey.
My only comment would be that the rooms could do with a freshening up, it all looks a bit date, however the rooms are clean. The restaurant next door is handy for the breakfast. all table service and a you can select whatever you like, staff are good , friendly and quick with the service, plenty makers on the floor, and loads of signage to keep the social distancing. plenty of sanitisers available, all in all we had a brilliant and comfortable stay, plus it was handy for local visiting the city or the seaside.

This hotel is old, rundown, unkempt and not what you'd expect from a Premier Inn. The fixtures and fittings are rotten and rooms vary between smelling a little bit musty and outright smelling of urine. The staff were excellent and you could tell they were doing their best with what they had but fighting a loosing battle. The location is advertised as 'secluded' but it's actually within a busy retail park The hotel needs some real investment and has totally changed my opinion of the Premier Inn brand.

Visiting friends and family. Good price , warm clean and comfortable with friendly staff . Couldn’t ask for more. Have stayed in many premier inns and you really can’t fault them. Breakfast offering is on par if not exceeding that of the more premium hotels
