Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I needed a base for visiting friends and family in the area. This hotel fitted the bill, decor a little tired but clean and comfortable, friendly staff. Reasonable cost overall. Continental breakfast was very good with porridge an option. I will use this hotel as a base again.

Hotel's Favourite
Had a 2 night stay at Premier Inn Monifieth. This may be my 3rd or 4th stay and it's because of it's location on the quieter side of Dundee that appeals. The reception team here are always most friendly and welcoming. Particular thanks and praise this time to Elaine who I spoke to regularly. The hotel was clean and despite the fact you could argue the rooms need a lick of Premier Inn paint, they are clean, tidy and nothing broken or in need of repair. The free wi-fi can be hit and miss at times, but kept up with my browsing pace long enough for me to do what I needed to do on my visit. Overall, an enjoyable stay and excellent base for exploring the Angus area. Will return again very soon.

Stayed here for a week with work with 2 others , very outdated , stayed in a few premiers over the years and this is the worst , not clean , bathroom covered with black mould , carpets really worn and dirty , sounds like staying in the room next to you with noise, , staff are nice at reception but when you go for food english accent woman was very abrupt, food was very poor as my colleague was ill after second night and so was I !!! But was told not the food according to lady , well it was either that or the dirty unclean room in my eyes ! had to suffer the rest of week ill , all in all cheap cheap cheap poor poor poor

Cheap and cheerful hotel room was noisy with doors slamming above staff friendly for what you pay you are not short changed however I would probably pay a bit more for a better hotel very dated. It all down to what you want to spend free parking which is a bonus the breakfast was meant to be all you can eat that wasn’t the case it was made to order we had dinner previous night service was slow food ok they seem to be struggling with staffing levels and knocked lots of table back due to this

Due to adverse weather we needed emergency overnight accommodation. The reception staff pulled out all the stops , were friendly, helpful and managed to accommodate us. They could not have been helpful. Restaurant staff also very friendly and polite.

Friendliest welcome ever from Lorraine on reception when we arrived, so lovely to see a cheery face upon arrival. Rooms were immaculate and spacious with everything we needed. I met a housekeeper in the corridor and she asked me if we needed anything to just let her know, she came and showed me how to put the heating off if it got too hot. The late shift receptionist was also very friendly and helpful, we were early for dinner and she said we could just go in. Food in the restaurant was fabulous and everyone cleared their plates, the salad on my plate was so fresh and crisp, absolutely perfect. The staff were so attentive and really accommodating to find us a table that suited a wheelchair, nothing was a problem, the staff here are all a credit to the hotel and restaurant. We slept really well in the amazing beds and then had a great breakfast before checking out. Fantastic choice of breakfast and the sausages were first class for taste. I would highly recommend this hotel and will certainly be returning in the near future. What a fantastic stay we had and thank you to everyone for making it a very memorable one ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I think an upgrade is required at this hotel as it is very outdated. The cleanliness was very poor and the staff at the reception was friendly and it is not a reflection on her, as the facilities and everything around the Hotel was poor and she is also working in that environment which does not reflect Premier Inn usual standard. Hope this feedback helps you to improve the Hotel.

I look to get quality, comfortable accommodation at a competitive price. Here I'd superb sleep in an excellent bed and all the facilities were first rate. All the staff I met were first rate too. To top it all off, the price was very reasonable.

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel. Both times we have had a function close by. The hotel location is absolutely perfect for this reason. Lorraine the receptionist had a very warm and friendly manner. Her sharp wit and sense of fun had us in stitches. She made our stay perfect. Nothing was any bother for her. Would definitely stay here again
