Met a friend for dinner and a chat here. Very good friendly service and highly recommended menu! Freshly made vegetarian dish and great atmosphere too! Easily accessible from the A34 set in the quiet little village of Compton with available parking in the pub grounds.

This is our local pub - great to have a good pub in walking distance. Always friendly and welcoming. This is not cheap mass produced pub grub. The food is always good to excellent and the menu is varied. They will go out of their way to provide something specific, e.g. for vegetarians or if you are lactose intolerant. The...

We stopped here for one night to break up a log journey home, our aim was to have a nice evening meal and a good nights sleep. We were not disappointed. The greeting on arrival was warm and friendly and we were shown to our lovely bright and spacious room with an enormous comfy bed. Our meal was a gastronomic...

I had stopped at the Swan a few years back for a drink and thought next time must stay. We were not disappointed. The Swan is located in the village of Compton close to miles of walking paths. The food was excellent, we sat outdoors in a beautiful garden. Hazel as you may recall from other postings is a vegan,...

I stayed in the Swan at Compton for four nights in August. Overall, I had a really good experience. The bedroom was both spacious and comfortable. There was no plug near the bed and the wifi disconnected a few times which was frustrating. The breakfast on offer is very tasty and definitely a plus. The starters on offer for the...

We had a great Sunday lunch. Between us we had the beef, chicken and pork. All were superb. Lunch was £13 and worth every penny. The tastes were amazing. I believe the veg was all grown fresh in the pub garden. I like to eat Sunday roast out most weeks and this is probably one of the best I have...

The sort of place you can take your parents or business clients for lunch and I've done both recently. Good service, good range of choices on the menu. Beer is a little pricy and varies on how well kept it is. They're happy for us to take our dogs in too. Looking forward to the BBQ they're doing for our...
