This is the second time we have stayed at these wonderful Studio/Apartments. Great welcome by the lovely bar manager, Milo who was excellent. We brought many a drink from him had many a lovely conversation and food too was delicious. These studio/apartments are up a very steep hill so not suitable for those with mobility issues. They are great Studios here fantastic view (if you have a sea view one), exceptionally clean, towels and sheets seemed to be changed every 3 days. Everything cleaned and bins emptied every single day.

The views here are stunning and you have a great choice of restaurants either to the left of Areti or the right. There are two supermarkets to the right (Troulos) the best one is on the right hand side of the road.

Buses are the easiest way to travel around, Areti is at Bus Stop 17 between 2 to 4 euros depending on which bus company, there are two different ones. You pay the driver directly on one but their is a conductor on the other one very frequent service never had to wait long.

Cost for beer around 4 euros large / small 3 Euros
Half a litre of local wine between 6 - 8 euros depending on restaurant
Evening meal, one course with wine/beer around 60 euros

Beaches easy walking distance from Areti. If you are looking for a quiet place to stay away from the crowds of Skiathos Town, but with fantastic views, fantastic staff and comfortable but basis accommodation and an amazing swimming pool you've found it here. We have no hesitation in coming back, thank you for your wonderful hospitality we stayed in Studio room no 37 excellent. Cannot recommend your lovely place enough. THANK YOU and we will look forward to seeing you again in the future.

I have just got Home from a week staying at Areti with my Mother and 2 daughters.
My Mum is not very mobile and walks with a stick, we were very aware of this before we arrived for our first visit to Skiathos and The Areti Studios and Apartments. We used Taxi’s daily which collected us from the top of the drive and then took us back to the top on the way home. We had no difficulty doing this at all, you just need to be prepared to Call a Taxi earlier than needed during August as they are very Busy.

Our Stuido (28) was outstanding with a huge balcony and great sea view. It was wonderful having a mezzanine floor where the children stayed and loved their own Bathroom.

Milos and Kosta on the bar where fantastic with us and made us feel very welcome so I am confused at other reviews. Food is of fantastic quality and we ate at the pool bar at least once a day and then headed into Skiathos town Via Taxi for the evening which was around 17 euros each way.

Housekeeping was great and very thorough, room was always spotless.

View from the pool is simply stunning and the padded sun loungers are very comfortable unlike other places we have stayed.

Thank you Areti, we will be back.

Highly recommend these lovely family run studios/ apartments.
We stayed here as a couple in our fifties at the start of the season to have a quiet relaxed week away to experience a smaller Greek island. These studios were perfect and everything we could have hoped for. There is a bit of a hill to walk up but only takes minutes and then the views are amazing! We were lucky enough to have a higher floor apartment ( booked a studio ) and was treated to uninterrupted views which certainly made it special for me. The apartment was basic but was well maintained and cleaned regularly. Lovely cleaners who even made our bed complete with blankets we had added due to the weather not great and were happy to give us other extra supplies when cleaning not needed or we had slept in! My only complaint would be that it would have been nice for the double bed to be in the front room to wake up to the views!!
We had problems with our flight and did not receive our luggage from Tui until 3 days after we arrived. Skiathos runway very short apparently so they occasionally take luggage off dependent of weather conditions! Word of advice.. pack some hand luggage!! Our arrival was late at night and we were tired and stressed after filling forms out and not been given a lot of info ( along with 100 other passengers) We were met at the apartments by Milo and Costas who were very friendly, had kept the bar open for us and also made us food ( 3 couples) Not what we were expecting for a small 2 star place but gratefully appreciated and made us realise we had chosen wisely.
Lovely pool area with amazing views and a bar open all day serving food. Bus stop at the bottom of the hill with regular service to take you to Skiathos town. Bars and restaurants in Troulos a 10 min walk down another smaller hill, 15 minutes back, easily done but trainers and torch is needed.
Overall even though we had no luggage for half of our holiday and the weather was temperamental we had a lovely week away and was extremely pleased with our choice of accommodation.

Skiathos is a very beautiful place with an abundance of stunning beaches. The hotel is in a good location and easy to walk down into Troulos village and accessible for the bus into skiathos town. The apartments themselves are basic and could easily be improved with a few things like sealant to cover little holes which ants were coming through and getting onto the worktop in kitchenette area and no ant spray to get rid of them and maybe something comfortable to sit on in apartment. The view was absolutely stunning from the balcony and this outweighed the negatives in the room. Some information in the room would of been great. Wi-Fi is non accessible in the room and is only available on the balcony or around pool area and if you sit out on the balcony of a night time you will probably get bit to death. Air con is payable extra and is €60 a week which is a fair bit for 2 weeks and it cannot be left (even though you have paid for it) whilst you are out as the maid will take your key fob to the reception area. Because we couldn’t get the Wi-Fi on in the room and didn’t want to sit on balcony with the mosquitoes we went to the pool area one late evening and took some wine and glasses. There were no one else there and no signs saying you couldn’t do that anyway the bar man was very angry at us and shouted we need to go to our room to consume the wine. Ok that fine but please speak in a normal tone with us and not aggressive. I got on to TUI about this and they did nothing about my complaint. After that incident we never frequented the pool area again and hired a quad and went all around the island which was wonderful and would highly recommend this. The last is the high prices at the pool bar, €8 for gin and lemonade and not free pouring just a double but down in Troulos and its €6 also food is pricey too. Ateti apartments and studios I would not recommend but Skiathos itself is wonderful place to visit especially if you love beaches and stunning views. Lots of wonderful places to eat. One of our favourites was the view restaurant a 5 min walk away. 2 local beaches literally a 5/10 min walk in either direction but well worth hiring transportation to visit other areas. Boat ride over to Skolopos island was amazing and visiting the mamma Mia chapel too.

We loved the views from our room and the pool bar.
Only problem could be the location which is between Aghia Paraskevi and Troulos, necessitating an uphill walk either way. Not a problem if you are fit but bear this in mind with the heat.
The road os much busier than in previous years and if you sleep with the balcony door open this may bother you.
Lots of steps around the property, so not ideal for those with mobility issues.
Not many lights around the steps which makes a late evening return somewhat hazardous. We used the torch on our phones.
Studio was clean and comfortable although the balcony needed a good sweep.
Pool wasn’t ever crowded but we preferred the beaches anyhow.
Bar prices were a little more expensive than local tavernas, so we had a few drinks on our balcony in the evening.
WiFi wasn’t great unless you were actually at the pool bar but you’re on holiday, so not a big deal.
We wouldn’t return here as we prefer being in Troulos or Kolios.
Thank you Areti.

We stayed at the Areti for a week at the begining of September 2023.

Our room was basic, with adequate facilities. The sea view from the balcony was beautiful. The pool, bar / reception area also had lovely views.

The Areti is located on a steep mountainside, between Skiathos Town and Koukounaries. Anyone with accessibility issues would struggle with this hotel.

Troulos is a 15 minute walk along a road with partial pavement. Not suitable for young children. There are several restaurants and a few supermarkets in Troulos. The Areti is near bus stop 17. It is €3 per person to Skiathos Town which takes around 20 minutes.

Air conditioning is €60 for a week with the safety deposit box €25.

Unfortunately during our stay storm Daniel hit, which had devastating consequences for Skiathos, it's residents and local businesses.

Flood water running off the mountainside got into our room. Emergency alerts were sent out by the Greek government effectively putting everyone into lockdown.

Areti is a family hotel being run by Kostas and his sister Eleni. Initially they were welcoming however, during the 3 day storm the reception / bar area were closed for safety reasons and we saw very little of them. The hotel lost power for over 24 hours. We were left reliant on other UK guests for information. We also shared essential supplies of food and water amongst other guests. The hotel quiet simply did not do enough for it's guests.
We left abandoned during this difficult time.

I appreciate other areas of Skiathos had it a lot worse with landslides, flooding etc causing major disruption.

Hotels have a duty of care for it's guests this was not met. We did see Eleni again on the day of our departure asking for the weeks €3.50 room tax, enough said.

This is the first negative review I have written, but I would never return to this
hotel. I do have pictures and videos of the flooding but have decided not to post them.

Our favourite Greek holiday so far! Just back from a week's stay at Areti hosted by Kostas/Eleni and family. The room was fantastic with fabulous views, cleaned daily to a high standard. The pool area was great with views across the island and over to Evia. Air con worked well and food made at the poor bar was reasonable and plentiful, the Greek pizza was delicious! Tavernas in Trulos a short 5 min walk away were great. We liked Jaserti, Ratatouille and Villa Taverni followed by a drink at the totem bar. Bus (busy) or a taxi for 20 euros takes you right into Skiathous town port. Thanks we will return.

Just come back from a weeks stay, place is good if you just want to chill out and relax. As mentioned in many reviews the hill climb can be a strain but no pain no gain! After the climb we had 42 steps to our room but its worth it with the views you get!
Rooms are ok, local supermarkets which are about 15 minutes walk are very expensive. Its better to get the bus which stops outside the place, its only 4 euros return and takes about 15 minutes to a lot cheaper and better stocked supermarket ( bus stop 3). Some nice restaurants about 15 minutes walk away ,never a bad meal anywhere would recommend The View restaurant with is stunning views. I personally wouldn't come back to Skiathos found it too quite but it was early season but if you like Mamma Mia its a must!

A much needed holiday in these fabulous apartments, stunning views overlooking the sea to watch boats and ferries go sailing by, they are kept immaculately clean with regular towel and sheet changes, the girls Biljana And Borkica work really hard.
Kostas and Eleni running the bar and keeping us entertained.
The bar food is plentiful with generous portions , you definitely need to sleep it off afterwards.
There are numerous restaurants either side on leaving, either by walking , bus or taxis and car..
Thank you Ioanna for another lovely holiday.
It gave us the opportunity to meet up with our dear friends and have fun and lots of laughs and make new memories.

Me and my wife just returned after the flooding, when we arrived the sun was shining and everything looked great. Apartments are basic but do the job and the views were to die for. We quickly unpacked and went to the poolside, there were a couple of sunbeds left but us like all the customers there said they all need replacing as falling apart. We had food at the bar and some beers which were all good and on a par price wise with the town, so at this point no complaints and would have returned. However when the thunder lightning started on Monday into Tuesday we were advised to stay indoors, we had no food as we were supposed to leave on Tuesday . Kostas turned up to tell us to stay indoors and don’t go outside as a national emergency was declared and he said to not leave as it was too dangerous, we explained we had no food and he kindly went to give us a few slices of bread, and 3 small bottles of water. So far no complaints, well that was the last we saw or heard from kostas, except when me and a customer next door decided to ignore this andgo to supermarket to get some food as we were starving and all the power had now gone. We went to supermarket and on our way back a car pulled up and to our amazement kostas was there with another customer who he had given a lift to the shops and back, to get cigarettes and drink, but that irrelevant. No one else was offered anything or lifts just his mate( another customer who was probs a regular) ! If we hadn’t took the risk to go out we would have been left with no food or drink, and so we’re extremely disappointed, we never saw or heard from kostas again during the holiday and were left to our own devices as were other couples, shocking considering he has a bar that serves food, could have offered sandwiches, maybe salads which we would have paid for and didn’t require electrics, and he and his family live on site we felt abandoned! Also big shout out to other guests who basically looked after each other, and also to Tui who were in constant contact with messages and updates and got us home on Thursday. Shame could have been brilliant and obviously no one was too blame for the weather, it al ok when everything is going well but the lack of visibility of kostas and looking after his mate and not others, everyone said the same that I spoke to, ruined it for me, shame, love skiathos though

Response from Ioanna Kuparissou, Ιδιοκτήτης at Areti Studios and Appartments
Responded 9 Sept 2023
I am truly sorry that you left disappointed with your stay at Areti. I understand that out of the 4 days you were staying with us, you enjoyed only 2 with good weather and that was another reason for your dissatisfaction. But I want to tell you that Kostas and my family, as it is written in all the other reviews from our customers, we are here to do the best for the people we host. If you asked Kostas to take you to the supermarket, he would do it for you, as he did for other visitors when they asked him and because he knew how dangerous it was. he simply considered it his duty! As for the food that you would like us to serve you, I mention to you that you know that the kitchen and bar area was under water and it was very difficult to do anything and in closing I have to tell you that we had to deal with many problems that day. ΙI is better to see some issue arising from all sides and not only from your side.

We asked while we there about how the 2 complex’s work. Nina areti is at the bottom of the hill, small pool and only a handful of apartments . They are tan and managed independently by Nina and not the areti above . If you stay there however ,you are allowed to use the pool/bar area of the areti above . On trip advisor all the reviews just come under areti (I think many years ago they were ran as a joint complex ), On tui they are seperate.if you want areti you must book it on tui .
