Fantastic recent stay in this hotel. Met a lovely south African called Robert who even took my bags to my room for me and recommended some lovely walks in the area. Robert's knowledge of Chatsworth and the area was incredible. It was mother's day weekend and he went above and beyond for my mum. Thanks we will definitely recommend. Great breakfast at the beefeater next door.

Lovely Premier Inn to stay in. Small number of rooms, clean, quiet and friendly, helpful staff. The beefeater next door is laid out well and adheres to current guidelines. Food was very good and staff were friendly and attentive. Definitely somewhere we would stay again. Only downside was the shower wasn’t very powerful.

We stayed here for three nights as it is very well located for some brilliant walks around Derbyshire, as you are a stones throw from the border of the Peak District. The hotel has been modernised in places, you need a room card to access the internal guts of the hotel and your room. We were lucky to have a room on the first floor to the rear with fantastic views, (I believe these rooms to be 19,20,22 & 24). Room is comfortable, with good bed, Air Con and a window that opens. Lovely shower Gel and hand wash available in room. Great size TV, not HD I believe, but reasonable level of channels. You also have tea and coffee facilities. Now you need to understand that due to Covid the rooms are not cleaned. You can ask for it to be cleaned and arrange change of towels and top up of T&C from reception.
The staff we met were helpful and friendly. Slightly pricey for this type of hotel, £115 per night for two nights, but then only £69 for the third night. Also you have to purchase breakfast separately, although that is an all you can eat at the adjacent Beefeater and is very good, go for the cooked as this also includes the continental option.
My only observation is that it is the little things that need addressing, there was some bubbling in the floor in the bathroom and the furniture needs updating - there is very little hanging space in the wardrobe, although wall pegs are available.
All in all, this is more a 4.3 and is comfortable and therefore recommended.

Great location, outside Chesterfield, nothing around in walking distance so need to use the Beefeater next door which we thought was very good.

Lots of parking, pleasant welcome, apologies to the guy on the desk, we found the other towel. We thought we only had one, he assured us he had checked the room, gave us the additional towel, some time later we found it! Think that Premier should give 2 hand towels with the 2 bath towels find it very irritating that you only get 1 when there are 2 people in the room.

The room was clean, very good heating, great tv and all the usual amenities.

We were upstairs in room 15, the bathroom door doesn’t close, was going to tell someone whilst we were there but we never saw anyone at the desk when we went past.

We stopped for 1 night at this hotel on our way to the Thoresby Manor hotel. I had mistakenly booked a double room instead of a twin. The guy at reception did his best to find us a twin but none was available. In spite of the fact that this was entirely my misyake, a box of chocolates was left in our room by the assistant manager as a gift for not being able to meet our needs. Totally unnessary but most welcome.
We had purchased a Premier meal deal for breakfast and dinner. The menu was extensive, the service attentive and helpful and the food was excellent and all freshly cooked to order.
The room, meals and staff were all excellent and all at a very reasonable cost
At Thoresby Hall, however, although the location was much more grand with a range of facilities and entertainment the meals were not anywhere near as good as a Premier. When we come this way again we will give Thoresby Hall a miss and sta at Chesterfield West

We stayed in the Premier Inn Chesterfield West for 3 nights at the back-end of August/Sept 2021.
We have a twin room which was furnished in the traditional Premier Inn style with kettle, mugs, TV, air-con, etc. The room was clean and, for the most part, very quiet. There were some banging noises from what I can only assume was the guests above us, but that was only a problem one of the mornings.

Parking was not a problem, and the location is a relatively good drive from many of the hotspots in the Peak district. I don't believe that anything is particularly walkable directly from the hotel, but diving is very convenient from this hotel.

The lady who greeted us initially was lovely and quite chatty, but 2 of the other ladies we greeted on our return to the hotel on different days seemed fairly miserable.

We did try and eat at the restaurant which, as expected, is a Beefeater but we were told the kitchen had closed at ~8:30 due to staff shortages. This was a bit frustrating as other restaurants are not particularly close by, and we had to do a 45 minute round trip to go elsewhere.

As others have observed, this is a more characterful and diminutive Premier Inn than most.
The staff cannot be faulted for the warmth of their welcome and Covid safety precautions seemed more than adequate.
I had hoped to get a room with a view away from the road - and I was fortunate to do so as I looked out to sheep grazing on rolling fields. Though this might be considered a bonus, I would have been less happy with my stay had I been allocated a room elsewhere in the hotel.
The room was clean, sufficiently spacious and comfortable. I had no problems getting to sleep on the bed. As other have commented, the TV is small with poor sound.
The bathroom was fine, though showing one or two signs of minor wear and tear.
The bathroom sink drained slowly; I was informed by a member of staff that this is a issue with the entire hotel, not just my room. For this reason, I guess, the shower head seemed to be a water-saving, aerating type which resulted in less water force and a noisier shower; but not too much so.
There was no shaving power socket, so I'm glad that I took my adaptor plug for my electric toothbrush.
Overall I was very content with my experience at this Premier Inn though, as I suggested, the view from my room played a big part in that.

We stayed for 3 nights last weekend. The location of the Inn is perfect for day trips to Bakewell (Chatsworth), Haddon Hall, Matlock, Castleton, Eyam and the Peak District national park for walking.

The Inn is a little tired and could do with a freshen up. When we were there it was unusually cold for August and the building was very cold inside which didn't make it feel too comfortable. Some care to keep the indoor temperature comfortable would be nice. Even the staff were really cold!

The staff were all friendly, professional and helpful.

We booked the Premier Inn breakfast for the duration of the stay but it wasn't the breakfast we expected. We had stayed in many Premier Inn's and had great breakfasts but this wasn't great. The breakfast was table service due to COVID which is understandable but it took a very long time. The cooked breakfast was obviously made with very cheap ingredients (tasteless tomatoes and mushrooms, pale eggs) the gluten-free bread was like eating bath sponge, the coffee was weak and there was hair in my cooked breakfast. We decided not to go again for the following two mornings even though I had paid for them. We had breakfast at other local cafes and restaurants instead.

Well can not fault this place you can always count on premier inn. A place where it's just ideal to rest. Room was very spacious clean and bathroom was large. You can sleep peacefully and not be disturbed the staff are always there to help and price was a bargain. The only thing was the wi-fi need a booster but other than that it was simple superb for what you pay for

We stayed for three nights to explore the surrounding areas. The room is as you would expect from a Premier Inn, comfy bed and enough space. We had a room at the back of the hotel which had no road noise and looked out onto the field of cows and rolling countryside.

The Covid rules mean no housekeeping which isn’t an issue. Whenever we needed clean towels or extra pillows, these were bought to us in a clear bag.

The only issue would be that the floorboards/carpet seems to be really noisy and we could hear whoever was above us when they got up early. Not the end of the world but as I’m a light sleeper it was a little frustrating.

Didn’t have breakfast there as Chatsworth Farm shop is usually a tastier option.

Would definitely recommend this place as a useful base for exploring the beautiful surroundings.
