We visit every year with Dofe groups as it is the perfect location for their routes at a good rate and a well maintained site. It is a walk to the toilet block from the camping fields, albeit along a track but it is a quiet and pleasant site.

Visited this site as we were here to see the Bakewell carnival. I visit different campsites every weekend so I've seen a few in my time. Yes the grass is long but if you looking for a lawn my advice is stay at home the fields are split into different sections Family and Groups etc we stayed in the family... More

Family of 4 visited for 2 nights on a bank holiday weekend - kids are 5 and 2 and we stayed on the family field. Grass was a bit long but no big deal - you soon get used to it. Loads of room. Yeah it is a decent walk to the wash room and shower facility but so what-... More

Beautiful location - basic campsite, but has everything you need, including hot water and showers. Even has a designated family room, which is great for people with youngsters! Amazing views, and briliiant rope swings - just how a campsite should be, really! Oh, and good value for money, too, and in dry weather, it's generally ok to drive onto the... More

This campsite is very cheap at £4 a night and very basic. The grass is quite long and the facilities are not well maintained. There were lots of groups and Duke of Edinburgh so if you're looking for a quiet weekend break you're probably better of going in the week.I would take lots of your own provisions as your pretty... Stayed here for 2 nights in April. This site is a great base camp for walkers like me! It has all the basic facilities you need - toilets, showers and running water. Yes! it is a bit of a walk to the loo from the last field but its only £6 a night. Beautiful location too. Highly recommend as a... More

Stayed at this campsite for two nights for a group event. The site hasn't got a lot going for it, apart from the lovely location. The fields are rough, uneven and unkept. The toilet block was a 10 minute walk from the field we were in, which isn't too much of a problem during the day, but not in the... More

Really enjoyed our stay here. Very basic site felt like a campsite should . My 11yr old boy loved the rope swings and open adventure areas . Not a lot to do onsite other than sit back and relax watching people come and go whilst the kids run around . Its a good site for family groups as it is... More

Stayed at this campsite for one night and I'm glad we hadn't booked for longer. The welcome was less than friendly (apart from the resident Jack Russell terrier) and the facilities are very poor given the turnover they have. Shower, toilet and potwash facilities are very basic and could do with modernising - and expanding. Two potwash sinks for 200+... More

We stayed on the family field and although it was busy there was plenty of room to spread out and have fun. The toilets are about a 3 min walk from the end of the family field so don't leave it till the last minute to go. The whole feel of the place is how camping was when you were... More
