Lovely location, very easy to get to from both Malaga and Granada airports. Once there June and Clive really look after you, but you have plenty of space to do your own thing. Cottages well equipped with everything you need for self-catering. Surroundings are very nice, and easy to make day trips. But the stand-out is obviously the ability to go horseriding in the mornings, on good natured, well cared for horses, followed by a swim in the lovely pool. And then you can decide to do as much or as little as you want after that. In teh current Covid circumstances, it is the perfect place to be away from it all, in teh sunshinne, with plenty to keep the kids happy. Thanks June and Clive.
I went alone to Cortijo Los Lobos to spend some time with horses. June took me out riding in the mornings and the scenery is simply stunning. The horse I rode was super responsive and smooth. I loved the rides and June is great company. I was so impressed by the care that the horses, all of the animals, receive. The horses are barefoot and their feet are so nicely trimmed and healthy. Many of the horses are rescues and still have white patches where halters or other restraints had rubbed. June has done such wonderful work with them to make them sociable and trusting. As many reviewers have noted, Clive and June have created a virtual paradise with something beautiful to look at around every corner-structures, trees, flowers, fish pond, wonderful smells, sweet dogs, curious chickens. If you have a car, you can visit two of the most beautiful towns in Spain- Granada and Cordoba. I would go back in a heartbeat! …
We spent an amazing, relaxing, Christmas week with June and Clive at Cortijo Los Lobos. Our apartment was perfect for a family with three kids. The kids loved playing on the swing and train and visiting the sheep. The horses were friendly and obviously very loved. June and Clive have a great philosophy in which the needs of the horses are considered very carefully and they are excellent at maintaining a safe, fun, riding environment for the whole family. The area is absolutely beautiful with sunsets to take your breath away and it is an easy drive to Malaga, Granada or a number of other great local sites. Grocery options nearby are great and we had everything we needed. We would definitely come again and recommend this place to all families, whether you are horse riders or not.…
We are a couple in our 70’s who no longer ride but that did not exclude us from enjoying this magical place. So many good things have been said in previous comments but one thing that may not have been said is the dedication and love that June and Clive, the owners have for this wonderful home and their animals. They have strived for 20 years to make it what it is today. The accommodation is really lovely, well thought out with huge attention to detail in this characterful finca. The evening meals June cooked were delicious, beds comfy, views beautiful and everywhere spotlessly clean. Sadly I cannot comment on the riding, but my daughter and her family are going there in a few weeks, so that is recommendation enough. June has also written a book about her time there which is worth reading ‘No time for a Siesta’ by June Wolfe. When our batteries need recharging again we will return. So thank you June and Clive.…
We have just come back from a fantastic self catering holiday at Cortijo los Lobos. We were looking for a location to relax as adults but with something for our 8 year old son and we couldn’t have chosen better! During our stay we met two lovely families with similar aged children who happily met, socialised and ate in the communal courtyard when not swimming in the lovely, securely fenced pool. We stayed here in 2013 in el granero viejo, which now has it’s own private courtyard but this time were in the lovely el establo which has a private courtyard and a roof terrace. Cortijo los lobos specialises in ethical riding holidays but is also perfect for animal loving families (there are cats, dogs, chickens and a sheep as well as the horses!!)looking for a quiet location with a pool! The weather was extraordinarily hot and so we hardly moved although Seville, Cordoba and Granada not to mention beautiful lakes are all within easy driving distance! June and Clive Wolfe are great hosts; happy to chat and answer questions if needed but also unobtrusively getting on with caring for the property and of course the animals. Our son, a complete novice, had a super, hour’s trek through the olive groves and with June and Clive’s encouragement went from a child nervous around horses to one who was keen to groom and feed them. We are already planning our return trip!…
