Featured in both The Times & The Telegraph UK's Best Glamping Sites, Kingfisher Lakes is a small, family-run site on two beautiful lakes in the heart of the East Yorkshire countryside. There are various lakeside options to stay in, from romantic cosy cabins with hot tubs for two, right up to huge safari tents ideal for groups of families & friends wanting to enjoy a very comfortable glamping adventure. Kayaks (with all equipment and safety items) for adventuring can be hired for the duration of your stay, as well as Firepits with unlimited logs for cosy evenings toasting marshmallows, which is a must when 'camping'. If you can pull yourselves (and the kids!) away from your cosy base then within 15-30 minutes' drive are a number of stunning East Yorkshire beaches (Hornsea, Fraisthorpe, Bridlington) and 30 minutes from the jaw-dropping Flamborough Head with its many coves, rockpools and seabird sanctuaries. The local villages have some great options for eating in and takeaway too.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Kingfisher Lakes glamping is promoted as camping for those who don't like camping. Well, we do like camping but this was an improvement. Our safari tent was generously proportioned with two bedrooms and a living area as well as private decking sheltered from sun and rain. This was beautifully constructed with wooden partitions, four poster and bunk beds (nice bedding). The tent was equipped with a fridge and wood burning stove and its own set of crockery etc as well as use of a communal kitchen and bathrooms. Barbecues and fire pits available.
There were nice little decorations showing a great attention to detail and everything was spotlessly clean and well maintained.
There were half a dozen safari tents, well spread out, and some log cabins overlooking a lake. There were two such lakes - the site runs alongside them - and canoes were for hire.
Children made friends and played happily on the lawn.
The owner Jo was very helpful without being at all intrusive, and any information required was available.
Being in the countryside, we often enjoyed quite an, err, agricultural smell.
This is a short bike ride from the local village or a drive to Hornsea, Beverley or the gorgeous Fraisthorpe Beach.
To improve - the WIFI signal!

We stayed in the Bell Tent which was lovely, very comfy and kept us cosy and dry in some torrential downpours! The kitchen facilities are excellent along with spotless showers and toilets. The kids loved the kayaking and freedom to explore the site. We were very lucky to see the resident Barn owl, a kingfisher and an adder! Jo was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely return!

Just spent a lovely weekend in a lovely log cabin with a hot tub.
Arrived on the site to be met by Jo who took me to the cabin to be shown how to use the hot tub and to see if every thing in the cabin was ok.
We will be going again in the future and would recommend anyone who’s looking at going to go you will not be disappointed.
Thanks
John and Helen

I cannot express how important they make your stay, as a newly married couple they decorated the room for us got everything ready and we even had a bunch of flowers and a card off them to congratulate us. Your stay will always feel very personal and like a home from home and so much to do with a short drive. Very clean and high-spec
Will be returning
Thank you again

Absolutely idyllic, can't recommend highly enough. Me and my partner stayed in Willow Lodge for 3 nights, and the cabin, the hot tub, and the location were all beyond perfect.

But what really made the trip special for us was the owners, Jo and Rob. Unfortunately, we had several disasters while away (back and car-related, nothing to do with Kingfisher Lakes)! But they really went above and beyond to look after us and get us sorted. They're just genuinely lovely people, doing something that they are passionate about - it was a joy to be one of their guests.

Wish I could rate higher. Beautiful location. Jo the owner greeted us on arrival, what a lovely, warm person she is. Jo had put us some lovely trimmings up. Extremely clean lodge, very modern. Lovely little touches throughout with fairy lights hung up.
Lovely to relax on the veranda watching the wildlife and was lucky enough to see a kingfisher.

Nothing seems like to much trouble for this family run business. Jo even took us around to look in the safari tents as they were not occupied, and then as we were leaving took us to look in the 2 person lodges. All which are stunning.

Thankyou so much for such a lovely stay. We will definitely be back. If anyone reads these reviews before booking please don't hesitate.

Just had 3 night break in a log cabin and have returned home feeling totally relaxed and refreshed. The site caters for different sized parties in cabins and tents. It is a very clean and well looked after site and the host Jo was very friendly and welcoming and easily approachable with any queries. Will definitely be booking again.

Just come back from a 4 night stay at Kingfisher Lakes. We stayed in the Evergreen lodge and have to say it’s the best lodge we have ever stayed in, and we have stayed in a few! The lodge was immaculate everywhere with modern decor and lovely little personal touches. The view of the lake from the lodge is beautiful, as well as the lake that you kayak on. The shower is huge! We loved the Scandinavian hot tub. The site is peaceful and also immaculate. We had a chance to look in the tents and they are as impressive as the lodges. The owner Jo is lovely and really cares that you have a brilliant stay. The site is a credit to her.

This is a gem of a place and we will certainly be back. Would highly recommend Kingfisher Lakes to anyone!

This is our fourth visit to Kingfisher and we'll definitely be back again! We stayed in the sunset lodge. The lodges are absolutely beautiful, really clean and tidy and so cozy! It's the most relaxing place, we love the log fired hot tubs and the privacy of the lodges. Jo is always extremely welcoming and helpful. The log cabins have everything you could need for your stay. The local village is really nice, we've visited Bert's restaurant which is lovely and only a few minutes away and we also tried the local fish & chip shop - you can order online and just go and collect , again only a few minutes drive into the village. This really is the most perfect place if you just want a few quiet days away to relax and unwind. ... Thank you to Jo & the team for another wonderful stay!

Wow..this place is amazing, from start to finish we had the best weekend away, from the easy booking, to the communication with the hosts before our visit, to the absolutely stunning lodge.
We were greeted by Jo who was lovely and as we had never visited the area before she gave us recommendations on places to visit and to eat. She showed us around our lodge, we stayed in Willow, it was beautiful, cosy, warm and had all the essentials you would need.
The wood fired hot tub was warmed for when we arrived, the swans were out swimming on the lake, it was so peaceful and beautiful and one of the most relaxing weekends we've ever experienced.
Jo also showed us around some of the other yurts and lodges and they were just as amazing as willow Lodge, we are planning on returning in the summer with our children for a few nights in one of the yurts and taking advantage of the kayaks and stunning walks.
I would definitely recommend Kingfisher lakes for either couples or family's. The service and the place is out of this world. Thankyou Jo and family for a relaxing and memorable weekend, hope to see you again soon x
