I cannot thank the amazing team at Burton Lodge, Nicola, Emma, and Ian enough for this weekend. I held my wedding reception on the beautiful grounds in a marquee, our family stayed in the beautiful guest rooms and we stayed in the wonderful bothy lodge complete with private hot tub! We had the most fantastic day, nothing was too much trouble for the staff. They supported me all the way through, planning and coordinating with my suppliers, helping with last minute bits and generally being the most lovely people ever! Thank you for making the day so memorable.

I stayed for one night on business (having stayed here last year) and the recent refurbishment of the rooms in the main house are stunning. Everything was perfect. The shower room was furnished with high quality accessories. The carpet is plush and the style classy. I had an early start and the hosts kindly prepared a continental breakfast of cereal and a croissant to start my day. I will definitely stay again.

From start to finish our time at Burton Lodge was fantastic, the owners, the rooms, the service and the overall feel of the place, all were amazing! We booked all of the rooms for our wedding party to be able to have a base to prepare from and a great place to come back to after the party! We spoke to the owners in the run up to the weekend (as we'd moved our date a whole year) and they were fantastic, helping to accommodate all our party in particular rooms which made things infinitely easier when we hardly had to move rooms the for the second night. We all felt welcomed and well looked after, we spent an evening in the huge sitting room and used the honesty bar which we loved! Breakfast was great both mornings and we were even accommodated with breakfast sandwiches in the room for the Bridal party on the wedding morning which was very kind! The Bothy was incredible too, myself and my wife stayed there on our wedding night and it was wonderful, lights up the path to and surrounding the Bothy and hot tub! So lovely inside and the shower room was great too! All in all a huge thankyou to everyone, we can't wait to come back again for another visit! Jake & Claire

Wonderful guest house. Very comfortable room and smashing breakfast. They have their own swimming pool which we used each morning before breakfast. Extensive grounds, in which they were hosting a wedding reception in a very funky looking Wedding Tepee. They also have a separate Bothy room with a private hot tub. The only issue we had is that they are situated across the road from a pig farm, and if the wind is in the wrong direction ...!

Booked after a day out and we decided to overnight to make the most of the great weather. Owner was on holiday so our host was a lovely friendly lady who was taking care of things. Sorry we didn't ask your name. We booked the room as a double deluxe. Room 4 did not live up to expectations. The room is small with road noise. 2 single beds with extremely hard uncomfortable mattresses and flat hard pillows. Light shines in over the top of the curtains - there's a very bright light outside the window. Not much sleep was had. The bathroom is tiny with no proper hanging facilties for towels. The loo roll holder needs to be moved to be accessible when using the toilet. Best part of the stay was using the pool in the morning. Please note the shower height in the spa area is low for anyone over 160 tall. The height cannot be ajusted. A spinner for swimwear would be appreciated. Breakfast was good, served with a smlle. But not a de luxe experience.

I haven't written a review on tripadvisor for over 7 years but I felt I must take the time to write about how AMAZING the Bothy at Burton lodge is. Where do I start the place is fantastic. I have been looking for somewhere special to celebrate my wife's birthday for a long time and found that the both ticked all the box's. The owners Ian and Helen were wonderful hosts and couldn't do enough for you. Upon arrival we were shown around the Bothy lodge which is absolutely amazing (amazing is going to be the running theme of this review) it's a little log cabin set in the grounds of the guest house. It has all the mod cons you could want, coffee machine, fridge, shower, free wifi, satalite tv, nice little touches like dressing gowns ect. The hot tub was fantastic we spent much of the evening in the hot tub which I think was my wife's favorite part of our weekend away. One of the other massive WOW factors was the AMAZING 😍🏊‍♂️ onsite swimming pool. After we got settled in we arranged with the owners to use the swimming pool. The pool is attached to an onsite spa which we didn't get a chance to use the spa but I've never seen such a high class swimming pool at a guest house before, the pictures really don't do it justice. It was a fantastic place to relax and unwind. They also have an onsite steam room in the swimming pool area which again is a great feature. The changing rooms and facility were top notch. I'm a joiner in the building trade and the standard and specs were of the highest standard. For an evening meal we went to Bert's pizzeria which was great food. The place gets very busy and service was a little bit slow but it more than made up for it with the quality of food. I would advise booking before hand Bert's is attached to a lakeside campsite and looks to be busy from opening until closing. Back to the guest house Breakfast was searved in the guest house or as a nice touch we could of had a continental breakfast brought to us in a hamper to the lodge but we chose the have a cooked breakfast in the dining area. Breakfast was of a very good standard and the again the breakfast staff were all very nice and friendly. Before we checked out we aranged to have another swim in the fantastic pool. If I could score Burton lodge out of 10 it would be 11. It really made my wife's birthday a special occasion we had a fantastic relaxing romantic weekend 👍💕🥂🎉 If I was being very fussy the only improvements I could recommend would be a gate on the main entrance to the grounds of the bothy for a little bit more privacy and we both found the bed a bit hard but I suppose it's what your used to. Having said that it still gets top marks I would highly recommend it to anyone thanks again we will be back.

The room I had was outside in the annexe . I had a super king size bed and it was amazing, the room itself was roomy and the room was equipped with everything you would need for a comfy night, hot choccy, biscuits, . The help yourself bar was a nice touch , and the breakfast was lovely. Would choose to stay here again for sure.

Booked last minute an stayed one night in The Bothy. It was cosy, calm, rleaxing. Loved the bird song at dusk and dawn. We moved to Room #1 for 2 nights. This was spacious, clean and the most comfortable bed. Overlooked the beautiful garden - bunnies hopping around and lots of birds. The garden was so calming. Really enjoyed the spa and the cool swimming pool - very refreshing. Staff are friendly (including th lovely spa staff) and very helpful. Excellent breakfast - perfect scrambled eggs. Tips: Beverley has good restaurants but they are small and booked up. Stayed here for Bempton Cliffs - magical to see the albatross, gannets, guillemots - erroneously classified as penguins by one non-specialised bird-watcher!

Absolutely fabulous find. Set in beautiful gardens, it's quiet, private and peaceful. My friend and I booked in for a hot stone massage then went for a walk at Bempton Rocks followed by a cosy evening in the hot tub. Bothy is like a tardis! They've thought of everything. The management were brilliant. Friendly and very obliging, they went out of their way to accommodate us to make for a special weekend. Highly recommend and would definitely go again. Loved every minute.
