A stunning beach resort with lovely clean cabins right on the beach. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the scenery is breathtaking. I can recommend the coconuts which are collected fresh of the tree for you by some of the local young boys. They are delicious and so cooling and refreshing on a very hot day. The trees where they get them are literally right outside of your cabin on the beach. Amazing to see these young lads scampering up and down the trees getting coconuts to sell to us -the tourists and visitors just for a few Pesos too!! The local people are so friendly and helpful too. It really is an ideal place just to rest, relax and unwind for a few days or even a week or two. The trips out to the other nearby islands are well recommended too-remember to bring a hat and plenty of sun screen lotion too , as it does get very very hot during the day!!! Also a wonderful place just to sit on the beach in the cool of the evening drinking a nice chilled beer and chatting with friends too!!!

So this is a great place to stay and a excellent location. The rooms are nice though looking a little tired which s fine as you are not paying much to stay here, the bathrooms do tend to get a little smelly but this was after heavy rain so may be nothing they can do.

We had two family rooms and we were all very happy (5 of us in total). The food it really really good, all the meals were excellent and the scallops are a must, as well as the halo halo, the Bar there is nice and some great drinks before you head out to town is a nice way to start the evening.

Plenty of room and seating on the beach though the wooden beach lounges are old and not that comfortable, the sea is very shallow and safe as well with little current and you can go for some lovely walks and watch the fisherman land their catch in the morning.

Also there is hot and cold drinking water available 24/7 from the self service water in the reception area.

Would highly recommend this place, would happily stay again in the future

The Santa Fe Beach club is a wonderful resort style property on a beautiful beach kept very well by the sand sweeping caretakers. I can't say a bad thing about the staff they welcomed us with a welcome drink and took us to our room. The club has a sister resort with a cave and beach and pool which can be enjoyed free of charge which would cost 225php per person and also Sandira beach which is amazing also free (90php) The only thing is the room had no TV which is fine but unusual. One other odd thing was my gf wanted to heat up some take out we had brought home and asked if the kitchen staff would heat it up for her and they asked for 100php to heat it. We are paying guests most hotels have a microwave in the room for unlimited use. They want $2 to warm some food. A little petty for such a great place.

Room Tip: Don't bring take out home and expect them to microwave for free. They charge for that.

We were coming from another resort nearby that had the worst customer service ever (Anika). It was such a breath of fresh air when we came here with very friendly, attentive and accommodating staff, they even bring your food/order to the beachfront while you laze around. The sandy, white, wide beachfront with clear waters is to die for. They also have ready contacts of motorcyles for rent as well as massage therapists. All you need to do is ask and they will be more than willing to help.

Keep up the good work!

the room was super nice and clean, the view was great and the resort itself had a wonderful aesthetic BUT i saw a vlog that the family room had a mini fridge and air purifier which I didn’t find in our room. Also, the staff was far from friendly, lol! They did attend to our needs but their faces would tell otherwise. We had to order breakfast at 5AM and asked us when would we like our orders to be served, we said as early as possible since we had a whole itinerary ahead of us , the earliest possible was at 7 in the morning which is totally fine but was served 30 mins after 7 & my sister tried to tell them and they respond in a very annoyed manner, lol! Anyways, maybe ya’ll gonna have a different and better experience.

Travelled to Sta Fe with hubby and 10 other family members after Christmas. We were picked up from the port by their shuttle which was great and appreciated. We were however disappointed by some (mostly aesthetic) issues which really was not a huge deal, but we think is still important to address.
1) The short road taking you to the hotel was very rough (needs to be paved, especially if you are taking a tricycle, it can be very uncomfortable).
2) You arrive at the property, in front of a very worn out looking gate, then you walk a short distance to the hotel, but was greeted by a not so welcoming sight of junk car(s) on the back of this old house (not sure if house was abandoned. Removing that pile of junk would help to welcome guests to a better sight.
3) Hubby and I were in a cottage closer to the water, and it was nice, but very outdated, and could use a bit of tlc, especially the bathroom. The other cottages were fine however. These are not huge, and could easily be addressed. On a good note, staff were very friendly and helpful which was a plus.
Overall, we had a good stay, and had fun even when the weather was not fully cooperating. The beach was littered with seaweeds and trash, washed out to the beach due to the weather (totally something that hotel can control). I tried loading photos, but for whatever reason, site wouldn’t let me.

Overall great
An effort to serve Breakfast options that aren't highly processed. Filipino classics done right their Tapa, chorizo patty, crispy danggit labtingaw were so good with sufficient serving sizes. The snacks options are well thought of from filipino to western. The corned beef steak was really good!

The rooms were modern and clean. The location is near port and aesthetic vibe is instagrammable especially the renovated sections.

Stayed for 4 nights in beach villa 1.

It’s not a good first impression, the entrance road is unpaved and full of pot holes.

The food is ok but many items on the menu were unavailable, the staff are friendly but wait times are too long, we waited over 1 hour for dinner main course to arrive. On one occasion we were seated in the separate breakfast room (to avoid the flies) and there were rodent droppings on the floor, this was concerning with a toddler in our family. When reported the area was swept up.

There were several issues with the room that although reported were not fixed. There was no hot water for the duration of our stay. This was investigated by the hotel who advised that this was due to low water pressure but not addressed meaning we had to shower and wash in cold water not ideal for our young toddler.

There was a rodent issue with the room. Rodents could be heard in the walls and roof spaces at night and during the day, again this was reported to the hotel but nothing was done. This happened towards the end of our stay and decided it was not worth the hassle changing rooms or hotel but more concerning is that the hotel still intended to put the next guests into the room without fixing any of the reported problems.

Overall avoid this place.

santa fe beach club has this special vibe. i just can't pinpoint what it is. perhaps it's the enchantment brought about by its mini-cave within the property grounds. or the rich flora surrounding the place. or the tidiness of the area. maybe it's the warmth of the staff even though you're just there to do some sight-seeing and have no intentions to check in.

this private resort has a lot to offer to its paying guests. when given another chance, i would maximise my stay and spend a couple of nights next time.

I rarely get mad. But this one is for the books! Don't ever go to this place!!!

We’ve been locally traveling since January this year (actually, since I was 6 years old, lol!) and I have so many things to share with you as soon as I have the time. And now that I finally have a couple of minutes to spare from my busy life as a mom, an entrepreneur, a homemaker, a traveler, I feel that this negative review we have of Santa Fe Beach Club Ogtong Cave’s Restaurant deserves a much-needed attention.

So we’ve been touring Bantayan Island in Northern Cebu for a couple of days when we decided to spend a day at Santa Fe Beach Club Ogtong Cave. It was part of an island tour we did one day but because we arrived at the place at almost 4pm, and the resort is open only to Day Tour guests from 8am-4pm, we decided to just come back another day so we can make the most out of their P200 entrance fee per person (children 0-2 years old are free of charge).

So that’s what we did. We came to Santa Fe Beach Club Ogtong Cave in our swimming attire. We didn’t bring any towels with us since we didn’t have any coming to this island and towels are provided for at the resort we were staying at anyway (St. Bernard Beach Resort); food and drinks are not allowed inside which was okay because we were excited to try their menu.

The first thing that stressed me a bit including Mahal was their sign outside the open-air restaurant that says wet clothes are not allowed inside (too bad I wasn’t able to take a shot of it as we were hungry and busy taking care of Tuz at the same time). We’ve stayed at so many resorts during our lifetime ranging from 5-star to budget resorts and this is the first time we saw a rule like this. It’s a beach and swimming pool and cave pool resort and yet they don’t allow their guests who are mostly wet inside their open-air resto??? Go figure! They don’t even rent out towels for walk-in guests like other resorts do.

After some time, I tried to relax. Sige, their property, their rules (even if we paid P200 each to supposedly enjoy our time at their place). I dried myself a bit under the sun before going up the steps leading to their resto. Then I asked for their menu. The first three choices that we liked were:

pork steamed rice
chicken steamed rice
breaded pork chop

So I ordered those.

Then the waitress said that if I want the steamed rice, I need to choose only 1 flavor. I said “sorry but I don’t get it. My partner wants pork and I want chicken. Why are you the one choosing what food to order? Is it not available?” After a lo-ong conversation clarifying my order, it turns out that a lot of other guests also ordered pork steamed rice and it’ll be easier for them to cook it all in one go rather than cooking another flavor that only I ordered. In short, their cook is lazy! Aren’t restaurants supposed to cook one order one at a time? Why are they insisting to mass produce all the orders? This is not a carenderia (local cafeteria) nor fast food like Jollibee! I am ordering from a supposed restaurant, right?!

I still managed to insist on what I want but they said it will take some time. It’s been 38 minutes since I ordered a small serving of their rice topping. Minutes continue to tick by and nothing… no food yet.

Another thing, since we’re all wet, we can’t eat inside the restaurant (no wonder nobody’s eating inside!) They have tables and chairs all over the property but I will have to be the one to bring the food where we want to eat with a deposit of P50.00. The restaurant is far away from all the other tables and chairs littered at their resort! Grabe, they’re not even bringing the food to us! It’s slow food, with no kind service whatsoever. And we have to return the plates to them so we can get our deposit back. Magsara na kayo uy! Are you a beach resto? Buti pa sa carenderia in all other beach resorts we’ve been to (Boracay included), the owner brings the food to the guests.

After almost an hour, someone approached me and told me that our food was ready and that we can go get it. Why all the effort to go from the restaurant all the way to where I was just to tell me that? Why didn’t he just bring the food to us??? So we had to walk all the way from where I was which was very far from the restaurant, all the way there and by the time Mahal was at the entrance of their resto, he wasn’t allowed to enter because his clothes were still wet!!! What a stupid rule! So, of course, he got hot-headed and the staff just chuckled at him! So disrespectful! Does the management of Santa Fe Beach Club Ogtong Cave even know this??? Was it their idea to implement such rules? OMG!!! What horrible service they have!

Oh, and we noticed that they have a lot of staff who are not even doing anything! Their swimming pool is not very clean and the Ogtong Cave per se smells weird. Then there was this one baby, probably about a year old, who is just wearing a cotton tank top and shorts who was not allowed in the pool because the poor baby is not wearing a proper swimming attire. OMG!!!

I will never go back to this place again! I wanted to relax and enjoy my time with my family but instead, they give you STRESS because of their NO SERVICE! I will never recommend this to anyone unless you want to be stressed! No wonder it took me 12 years to come back here!!! Their service must have always been terrible and I just forgot. Well now I’m writing it all down here on my blog so I won’t forget. Very poor and stupid service!!! NO TO SANTA FE BEACH CLUB OGTONG CAVE’s RESTAURANT! NO TO SANTA FE BEACH CLUB OGTONG CAVE! PERIOD!
