We did not stay in the inn, but we ate here. We were forewarned by someone on Tripadvisor that reservations were needed. When we got to Brantes around 11 a.m., we promptly made reservations at the Auberge. When we returned for lunch, it did seem that reservations are the way to go, as the three lovely but disorganized women who...

Myself and friends spent a week at the ranger's lodge (available for rent, by the way) located in the forest about 5 minutes away from the hillside village of Brantes. The Auberge de Brantes seems to be the focal point of village activity. We made multiple visits to the in, taking our afternoon aperitifs there, as well as several evening...

We went to Brantes, walking around we heard voices and sound of cutlery etc., Upon walking down the hill toward the Auberge we were surprised by how many people were eating in such a out of the way place. We decided to have lunch there...... what a feast!! after four courses we had to tell the proprietor "no more food",...
