Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely stay. Rooms outside of the main house quite dated. Nice size rooms though. Breakfast good, lots of choice. Lots of staff really great. Morgan on reception and Leon in the spa. Had a nice meal in the restaurant, served by Kelvin and Keah. Shame to hear that the waiting team don’t get a proper share of the tips in the restaurant. They only get gratuity on the extras, not on the menu.

My wife and I had a great few days at this hotel and spa for my birthday. Very spacious and comfortable 'prestige' room. We used the bar and the restaurant and spent a morning in the spa. All staff were friendly and helpful. Thanks 👍

After reading the reviews I thought I would treat myself and the wife to a long weekend away. I had a business meeting on Sunday so it was nice that my wife could have breakfast in the room and a day in the spa, massage and swimming..chilling out. The breakfast came...which is not cheap... a couple slices of cold toast, some very chewy non crunchy cornflakes and a fresh fruit salad which consisted of 90% apple and the odd bits of pineapple and something else thrown in....not a good start to the day. A trip to the spa will cheer her up...on arrival no one was at the reception to help you out and hand over a towel. Once changed the spa bath was like a dip in a freezing pond and the pool so cold it was hard to stay in. You couldn't sit and chill out because that is literally what you got...freezing cold aircon blasting down onto you. All in all a very disappointing day. The room was comfortable however we were rationed on tea, coffee and milk. Biscuits were budgeted for as well...one each for two nights. This should not happen in an expensive hotel. We certainly will not be back and upset about the whole experience. Shame on Mercure hotels

After looking forward to a lovely evening out for months with friends, we had such a disappointing time. The staff did not want to know us (when we eventually managed to get hold of them). Smashed glass on the floor. Charging my friend for a drink he didn’t even order nor receive. The managers attitude was nothing I’ve ever experienced, was disgusting!!! Never attending or wasting my money on this place !

The spa and hotel are in a beautiful setting, however the experience, to start my daughter’s 40th birthday celebrations, was very disappointing. When we arrived no one was available from the spa to greet us, the young man from the gym tried his best to help. Although we had confirmation of the booking I was also asked for proof of payment! The booking was made via SpaSeekers. Refreshments on arrival consisted of a drinks machine requiring £1 coins, which we were provided with. When we were finally directed to the changing rooms no one explained the itinerary or equipment. The Orchid Spa was in darkness and on the 2 occasions I tried to find someone there was no one available. One sauna and one steam room was out of order. Toilet tissue was empty and bins were overflowing. There is obviously a staff shortage which was also apparent when we visited the bar area for lunch after waiting 10 minutes for a member of staff to appear. The spa treatments were excellent when we did see a therapist. Staff were pleasant but not enough of them. Sadly, we will not be visiting again.

We booked into the Privilege suite, and I am not sure where the privilege was ? It was for a special occasion that we visited Albrighton Hall and Spa. The room was not ready on our arrival and we waited an extra hour for our room. But we were offered a free drink !! We got into our room and it felt quite basic and tired with a large cracked ceiling above our heads. I asked a lady about spa treatments, and was told to go online and book, easier said than done the WIFI it kept buffering, we couldn't access the internet or spa treatments online, the room was supposed to have cable TV but half the channels were unavailable. However the staff were very pleasant, when vacating our rooms and handing over key cards but no one asked us if we had enjoyed our stay or asked if there were any problems with our room? Unfortunately i don't think i would make a return visit.

Dated, dirty and more like an experience from I’m a Celebrity. (See photos). The old heater is broken, the WiFi was intermittent and has no security, the light above the bath let’s little light through as it is full of dead insects, meanwhile flies buzzed around the room, soon to join the collection in the main lightshade. The plug in the sink is missing, revealing previous guests’ lost razor covers and toothpaste lids, the paint is people off the doors, and r the less we dwell on the bedding stains the better… Check in was fine but some of the rooms are in desperate need of full refurbishment to warrant charging any more than £50/night. It is current hostel standard.

The Hotel part was "OK". However the massages I paid for in the Spa were the worst ever. No pressure in what was advertised as a deep tissue massage. The therapist didn't speak English and the whole process felt like being on a production line. The hotel is nice but avoid spending money in the spa. I complained and asked for my money back there and then and was deferred to emailing the manager of the Spa. I have emailed them umpteen times and have not even been graced with a reply. Disgusting. I'll stay somewhere else next time.

This is one of the best Mecure hotels we have stayed in. Beautiful setting, we stayed in a prividge room and it was large and comfortable, with a mini fridge and necspresso maker. I had asked for an accessible room and it was suited to my husbands needs. Bed v large and comfy, the spa was great - a proper rectangular swimming pool and excellent hot room area. Breakfast was ace - didn't need lunch! Bar meals were OK but worth the extra for the resturant. The staff were outstanding - so helpful and kind. Hope to revist soon
