I regularly stay at Llwyn Helyg Country House on business, and there is nowhere better than this beautiful, tasteful place.
The hosts are wonderfully warm and welcoming and can’t do enough for you, and always with a cheery smile.
The rooms are exquisitely decorated to an exceptionally high standard and great attention to detail. The highest quality bed linen and beds make for a fabulous nights sleep.
The bathrooms are a real highlight with high quality marble, large spacious power showers and large jacuzzi baths.
Breakfast is freshly cooked and again, to a high standard in keeping with everything else on offer.
Llwyn Helyg is set in beautiful, quiet countryside about 8 miles from Carmarthen centre.
It’s no wonder that so many people return to Llwyn Helyg Country House on a regular basis.

This accomodation has been one our fondest highlights of our visit so far around the UK. This is one of those rare gems when it comes to location and hospitality. Professionally run with a richness of care and love. Caron and Fiona are the most loveliest of people and I’m so glad we have experienced their home as a guest. Seeing what they have created and the many year journey is inspiring and something quite special. Care has been taken in almost every aspect of the property. It has a majesty that was a joy to experience. We loved it so much that we added an extra night and extra special trip to Wales to enjoy it some more. There is another gem to this home and it involves music, just ask Caron. It may for you, like me, engender a touching tone of emotion.

I stayed here for two nights for a friends funeral nearby. This B and B is furnished like a boutique 5 star hotel and the rooms are very comfortable and very clean. Excellent service and breakfast. I was very well looked after and would not hesitate to recommend it. I wish I had been there for longer and on a holiday!

We have just returned from a four night stay with Fiona and Caron at the beautiful country house Llwyd Helyg. We arrived Sunday late afternoon and Caron served us a pot of tea and some of Fiona’s delicious homemade rock cakes which were decidedly melt in the mouth. We stayed in the Paxton room (with its wonderful view of the tower itself) which was everything you could wish for and more; as all the other reviews point out we had a fabulous Jacuzzi bath and shower in a huge bathroom with no expense spared. Incredibly comfortable bed which we struggled to get out of every morning; it was only the thought of a wonderful breakfast that tempted us from wallowing longer in utter luxury.
Tea, coffee, etc fresh biscuits, fresh milk, bottled water – still and sparkling, chocolates provided every day. What more could you want? Although Paxton is slightly smaller than the other two rooms it was perfectly formed and had a beautiful view over the fields. A hare coming into the garden to feed morning and night; red kite hunting over the field in the late afternoon; cows coming down to say hello in the morning. You could stay all day in the room looking out of the window but if you did you would miss out on the beauty that the local area is renowned for. Caron and Fiona are a wealth of information on what to do, see and where to eat. We were not once disappointed with any of their recommendations. Caron was good enough to let us listen to some cd’s in his music room which has to be heard to be believed. Llwyd Helyg is an amazing house owned and run by a more amazing couple who are kindness and helpfulness personified. Add to that their wicked sense of humour which resulted in a candlelit breakfast. You will not be disappointed if you decided to stay with Fiona and Caron at Llwyd Helyg; your only disappointment will be when it is time to leave. We will certainly be going back and hopefully in the not too distant future.

Am le gwych! Croeso arbennig a chyfeillgar. What a wonderful place to stay. From the welcoming coffee and cake in the fabulous music room- an experience in itself- to the excellent breakfast before we left. Llwyn Helyg is luxurious, relaxing and peaceful . We stayed in Tywi with views across the valley. We were lucky enough to have a beautifully clear starry night too. Caron and Fiona's hospitality is second to none. One visit is definitely not enough. Read all of the previous reviews. They say it all. It was so nice to rediscover the area. Cannot wait to return with a list of music to experience in the listening room. Diolch o galon am y croeso a'r profiad.

Myself and my husband have never stayed anywhere quite like this before! The most beautiful setting! The room was just stunning as well as the whole house! It was bespoke and fine detail everywhere (even down to the cookies in the cookie jar and chocolates next to the bed). From the moment we arrived to the second we left we were treated like royalty. Nothing was too much for Caron and Ffiona, they was very welcoming and heart warming.
The breakfast in the morning was just indescribable. Absolute perfection. We had a full English again very bespoke and so beautiful presented.
If we could give 10 stars, we would! Will definitely return very soon and look forward it until then!

A grand, lavish country house set in it's own grounds, unusual for a modern property. Designed and built by Caron & Fiona, this is a traditional stone country house built with great luxury and attention to detail. Individual rooms are spacious, very comfortable with top quality bedding, helping to esure a great night's sleep. We stayed in Tywi and would recommend it! The bathroom was large and full of features, including the spa baths, dual sinks and the main thing for Sheila and I, a great shower!

However what makes this such a special place is the welcome and help offered by Caron and Fiona - they pride themselves on making their guests fill relaxed and at home and they are wonderful relaxing, generous hosts. From meeting us when we rang for directions, to booking an evening meal and offering us a lift (having just dropped off another resident) they were attentive and wanted to make the trip work for us. Charming, easy and friendly - ideal hosts.

What a fantastic weekend! We stayed three nights and immediately on arrival realised how different this was going to be compared to other B&Bs. Caron and Fiona are extremely welcoming and constantly attended to our every need. Caron was a font of local knowledge and helped us plan each day thereby ensuring we got the absolute maximum from our stay. The facilities are luxurious and the setting is fantastic if you are looking for a base from which to explore the area as it is close to A40.
Now we are busy telling everyone who will listen about our stay and we recommend the place to everyone.

A genuine, heartfelt thank you Caron and Fiona for a wonderful experience. We wanted a “get away from it all to somewhere special” type of break and this is what we had!

The breakfasts were tasty and so much consideration went into making sure we had everything we wanted and care about presentation too. We really appreciated the helpful tips Caron gave us on places to go, we ended up seeing some amazing, beautiful places. We also appreciated his advice on where to eat of an evening, we weren't disappointed. The room + bathroom were immaculate and luxuriously furnished and the bed was so comfy! The music room blew us away, we would've loved to have spent more time there listening to music, but we were so busy enjoying the great sights to see or out for dinner. I guess you cannot do everything! Finally, something you cannot put a price on is Caron and Fiona’s hospitality. Such genuine, lovely people who care and welcome you into their home.

The experience we had was a unique one of luxury whilst feeling right at home! Amazing! Thank you!!

My wife and I have just stayed here for the past 4 nights, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Caron and Fiona make you feel so welcome and the place itself is fabulous. Really nice setting and so peaceful and relaxing. And what a sound system Caron has! We enjoyed some great rock! 👍. Will definitely go again. The area is beautiful, with so much to offer.

Would it be okay to bring George with us? He is a 4 yr old French Bulldog who is very well behaved..
Answer from Caron J

Good Afternoon Barnaby, Thank you for your enquiry but unfortunately we have a no pets policy here at Llwyn Helyg. We understand that Award Winning Coedllys Country House, Llangynin, St.Clears (about 12 miles west of Carmarthen) will take pets. We wish you well in finding somewhere suitable. Best Wishes, Caron Jones

what would be the nearest airport to your restaurant

Cardiff, although there are not many airlines which fly into there. Bristol is the other option and will take about an hour to drive to Cardiff and then another hour to Llwyn Helyg.
