stayed here over the Bank Holiday weekend was made 2 feel welcome by the friendly staff Natalie and Co food was great with a superb cornish breakfast every morning.within easy reach of penzance and other attractions
Great location for seeing Penzance and the surrounding area. Food was good and room was clean and comfortable. We were on the top floor and the last flight of stairs is a bit steep so if you have problems in that area ask for the lower floor. Parking is in the main square but very limited and there are time restrictions. There is plentiful free parking a short walk away in the main car park. We were out of season so they stopped serving food in the evening (a Saturday) at 7.30.
We ate here 3 times in one week and the food lovely each time. The staff are very friendly and will go out of their way to help you. We will definitely be eating here again before we go home. This is a great business in the heart of st just with a free car park around the corner
This place is great. They solidly tick every single box. Good sized, clean and comfortable rooms, powerful showers, great customer service, fantastic breakfast, pub attached, free parking, the list goes on……Came with my son to visit family and needed somewhere at short notice. Would highly recommend and would certainly visit again.
This is an amazing friendly family run hotel. We had the family room which was spotless and had the best shower ever! Drank with the locals abs everyone made us feel really welcome Great place to go and chill and see the best of the “poldark” scenery Highly recommend. Will definitely return very soon
My four night stay here was a most pleasant experience. The room was bright, clean and quiet. There was an excellent choice of food at breakfast. I also had my evening meals in the hotel restaurant and all were delicious (remember to book). Above all the staff were, without exception, very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The location is close to Cape Cornwall (20 - 25 minute walk) and from there you can take beautiful walks to the south and north on the coast path. On the first day I walked south as far as Lands End and took the bus back to St.Just, it stops very near to the hotel. I was really in need of a break after some stress caused by a late change of travel plans, and this hit the spot perfectly. I would happily return to The Commercial.
Just returned from a week's stay at the Commercial with my wife and two daughters and enjoyed every moment. We had 2 rooms - a double and a twin and they were perfect for our needs; a good size, clean, comfortable beds and excellent en-suite facilities. We stayed on a b&b basis and the breakfast each morning was fabulous - plenty of choice and really tasty. The staff at the Commercial were very welcoming and could not be more helpful and attentive, nothing could be too much trouble. We had just the one evening meal there and that was great too; would happily have had more but I very much like to try different places when on holiday. The rear of the Commercial was fabulous with a lovely patio area adorned with colourful flowers everywhere and a great beer garden too; would have used it more but as we were so lucky with the weather for our week (wall to wall sunshine pretty much every day), we were out and about exploring the region every day (recommend the open top Lands End Coaster Bus which stops at all the key areas along the coast between St. Ives and Penzance (Including St. Michael's Mount). The Commercial is in a great location with a lovely town square all around you with some top notch pubs, cafes and the like dotted about you.(if you are there in the summer and get good weather, recommend nabbing the tables in front of the Wellington and Warren's Bakery on the east side of the square for a perfect sun trap well into the evening). In summary, one of the best breaks away we have ever had (I was like a kid and felt really sad on leaving) and wouldn't hesitate to return again.. Thank you everyone at the Commercial, hopefully will see you again. Graham M…
Enjoyed eating at this wonderful pub/restaurant yet again on our annual pilgrimage to St Just. Usual high standards of quality food and service maintained during these difficult times. Excellent table service from a very friendly and efficient staff.
Great drinks We popped in for a couple of drinks with friends. Great friendly staff. Lots of local beers and spirits to choose. The garden area is superb loads of space for everyone. The new addition of cocktails are great. Lots of good things here all Covid safe. Great work well done
My sister and I recently spent 5 nights at this great hotel. The food is excellent. The beds are comfy. The showers are brilliant. And they even do passion fruit martinis on draft. A slight glitch on the second day which was sorted out quickly and an apology followed. It's how they deal with problems which make a hotel good in my opinion. The staff are very good, friendly well organised and calm. Fabulous and pretty garden. Great light when the sun is shining. And has a section under cover for when it's not. The conservatory where you have breakfast is really light and airy. And as I've already mentioned, the food is excellent. They have an odd plumbing system which is noisy. The stairs, especially up to the second floor are very steep and high steps too. So when booking for an elderly person or someone's who's not got great mobility or who has a heart condition make sure you check this out before you arrive. I will definitely be going back. Great family run hotel. Highly recommended.…
