Detailed Reviews
On arrival the Hall looks very impressive, parking was easy and as we have just acquired an electric car was pleased to find 3 charging points at the hotel. Checking in was good and we were shown to our rooms, we went as a family of 6 so was a bit disappointed that we were spread out across the hotel as we do like to pop in on each other’s rooms often. Our Room was very impressive very large big windows and a mezzanine floor with the bed and wardrobe area, good to see an ironing board too. I would have liked a mini bar fridge though as the room was quite warm so chilled drinks would have been nice, and also if diabetic you would need to keep you insulin in a fridge so was surprised to see a hotel of this standard with no mini bar also lots of choice or teas available but not much milk to use and only one hot chocolate sachet and just two English breakfast teas which are always the most popular and first to be used so could do with more in the room. The staff were very helpful, the spa area adequate, treatments were ok as part of the package and nice to have a jacuzzi in the courtyard but it wouldn’t be classed as a spa hotel if that’s your thing as way to small to accommodate many people. WiFi was really hit and miss which at times was frustrating as in our room neither of the TVs worked and although the staff tried to get it sorted, having just one night there wasn’t worth it. The quality of the food was excellent at Dinner lunch and breakfast staff attentive but not intrusive had a good vegetarian and vegan option too if needed. Overall it was a good stay beautiful surroundings not much to do, Golf was very good according to my husband and son in laws, but a bit more attention to detail in the rooms is needed as its not all about the decor and for the cost of the room for a night, over £300 it should have been better.

We booked a room, dinner and breakfast on the night of the 1st August to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary and had a wonderful time! The staff and management should be congratulated on their implementation of subtle changes to adhere to COVID regulations, they didn’t detract from the excellence of the visit.
We revived an email prior to our visit to outline the changes to the hall under the new guidance so we were well prepared and knew what to expect. Check in was stress free- we were greeted by genuinely friendly and helpful staff who showed us to the gallery suite where we stayed.
The room was amazing. There is an upper level with bed and free standing bath, and on the lower level is a lovely sitting area with lots of space. It is a really light room and well decorated, and we appreciated the tea and coffee making facilities. Being in the top of the building me at it was warm in the room but the windows opened slowing fresh air in.
Dinner was wonderful. Food was of a really high quality and well presented. I had the scallops and black pudding to start which were divine! The staff were really good; very swift with removal of plates but you were not rushed through your meal with time between courses if you wished.
We had a fabulous time and was the perfect way to celebrate our anniversary. We will be back soon! Thank you very much for all of your hard work and effort in making sure that none of the things that make this place special have been lost, and a huge thank you to all of the staff who helped, served and chatted with us.

wife and I booked a d/b/b stay and it was our first trip to Hintlesham Hall. From the moment we drove through the entrance gates this place felt special. The reception staff were friendly and welcoming and took the trouble to give a a tour of the facilities on the way up to our room. The room itself was very comfortable although a little bit short on usable flat surfaces. There are various very spacious and comfortable lounges to relax in and we enjoyed pre dinner drinks in the stylish bar.
The fixed price dinner at £38 for three courses was just fantastic and they have an extensive wine list with prices from £25. The service from the waiting staff was efficient and friendly. We enjoyed a very good nights sleep in the very comfy bed. After a big breakfast cooked to order we bade a sad farewell and are already looking to book a return visit.

Fabulous venue well presented throughout. Large, comfortable and clean room. Great food and service.
Hintlesham Hall lived up to our expectations. It was beautifully presented throughout and very comfortable. Staff were also well presented and friendly, without being imposing or intrusive. All staff wore face coverings or visors, hand sanitisers were available in multiple locations and visitors asked to wear face coverings in public areas, helping us feel comfortable and as safe as possible. The restaurant is lovely and waiting staff well trained and efficient. Our meals were beautifully presented, very tasty and excellently served.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful, characterful hotel. We took advantage of the India summer offer as we were planning to take all our meals at the hotel and it worked out good value for us. We chose the room upgrade as one of our free options and all of us were delighted with the size, decor and amenities of the room. The reception and waiting staff were wonderfully accommodating, particularly over where we ate, as some of our party were very nervous about eating in the main restaurant for COVID reasons. My wife and one of our daughters loved their massage at the spa and my son and I took advantage of a great morning's golf at the on-site course. For dietary reasons, we needed to bring in some pre-packed meat for three family members and the hotel was great about having the chef cook it for us. All in all, we were delighted with our stay and would definitely return. My only suggestion would be to introduce a slightly more enticing vegetarian menu, but in the scheme of things that is a really minor point and did not detract from our holiday. Highly recommended.

We were a little apprehensive about visiting so soon after the re-opening, but we need not have worried. Obviously there have been changes, but we felt very safe. There were hand sanitizers everywhere, the staff all wore masks. There was a one way system and social distancing in place. The staff are fantastic and can't do enough for you. The food gets better and better, so make sure you book half board. We had a wonderful stay, and are looking forward to going back very soon.

Such a wonderful place to stay. Lovely gardens (especially the kitchen garden), and comfortable rooms in which to sit, reminiscent of a bygone era, whether to read, socialise or simply relax. Our bedroom was extremely comfortable comprising a sitting room area as well as of course an ensuite. The food was superb, a very good breakfast menu, (both English and Continental) whilst the dinner menu offered exceptional quality food, quite an experience! Great care was also taken in relation to Health & Safety (given current conditions) and we felt entirely safe throughout our stay. The staff were also very friendly and also very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Overall I would throughly recommend Hintlesham Hall, certainly on our list to return without question.

We returned to Hintelsham to celebrate our anniversary and thought it was even better than last time. The Palazzo room is amazing, very large, sumptuous bathroom. tall ceiling with open beams, huge comfortable bed, well furnished, one of the best hotel rooms we have stayed in. The welcome is warm and the service faultless. The dinner was delicious, good menu choices and at £38.00 for three courses extraordinary value. There were optional supplements for the more expensive options but for small increments. The dining room is very elegant, lots of windows so the dining experience in all was quite special. I have food intolerances and they had prepared and ordered specific food for me. They managed to deliver tasty and safe food which was an unusual achievement as my needs are complex. The apricot creme brulee was absolutely fabulous and so was the specially prepared amuse bouche. The breakfast was equally good, eggs, bacon and sausages all perfectly cooked .
It is rare that we can find nothing negative to comment on. Hintelsham is outstanding and we will come back as soon as we can.

We are a party of nine which regularly spends New Year together, and we have been to many venues. We were all agreed that Hintlesham Hall was the best so far. Kicking off with generous champagne in the beautiful period reception rooms with log fires, magician and piper, through to the splendid meal then terrific fireworks and more champange at midnight, it couldn't be faulted. The DJ played music we'd requested and the staff were terrific. Rooms were quiet and comfortable and we even had our own table again at breakfast the next day. Thanks to all at Hintlesham Hall!

we stayed at Hintlesham Hall the weekend just gone (13-14/06/2021) and i must say the whole experience was amazing. I booked and planned the trip so that i could propose to my partner at the hotel after an awful year of lockdown, and from the booking to checking out our entire experience was faultless. From the very helpful reception team that answered my questions and booked spa and dinner reservations for us, to the hotel and restaurant staff whose service was excellent. The food was of a very high standard and absolutely delicious, the menu was varied, well balanced and fairly priced. Lastly the venue itself. Both inside and out the hotel was spectacular. Coming up the drive on a summers day the building and grounds from the front look amazing. The shaded patio area and rear lawn of the property was perfect for a drink in the afternoon and to sit and relax. the grounds are well maintained and a small rose garden and arch were the perfect place to pop the question. Our room (Heart of Oak) was a lot larger than we were expecting and was well decorated, Traditional without being dated, with lots of modern appliances. the room was spotless and whilst a little warm in the evening, it couldn't really be helped as it was a very warm day. The corridors, restaurant area and lounges on the ground floor of the hotel are also beautiful places to sit and relax. My partner and I had an great time staying with you, and will be back soon.
Many thanks, Scott and Sally-Kate
