#1 of 2 in Albella
Escape to the tranquility of our farmhouse, "Casa Allue" situated in a private corner of the sleepy hamlet of Albella close to Ordesa National Park. Our farmhouse has been thoughtfully restored with great care and love, preserving the wooden beamed ceilings and stone archways, and always respecting the traditional architecture of the area. We have 7 en suite bedrooms, 4 with double beds, one with twin beds and 2 individual rooms.. All rooms have mountain views and their own luxury bathrooms and most have balconies The furniture has been carefully selected to fit in with the traditional feel of the house. We provide an ample buffet breakfast in the dining room and can also offer evening meals and packed lunches. For our guests we have a spacious dining room with WiFi ,a large sitting room with exposed rock face, a traditional stone entrance hall with medieval arch and a small gym below a beautiful log roof. The house is set in open countryside and woods which guests are free to explore. There are some lovely walks straight from the house. We organise activity weeks from photography through to nature trekking or else we are happy to recommend walks and other activities, including adventure sports that can be done locally.

A wonderful week of cooking and walking in Simon and Lucy's beautiful home set in the amazing scenery of the pyrenees. The itinerary was well organised with a good mix of walking and interesting local activities such as the winery visit and the goat farm. 2 hour transfer from Zaragoza airport but the roads were good and a taxi was arranged to pick us up. The rest of the time we had days out from our base at Casa Allue in the mini-bus. Enjoyable walking with local guide and with Simon and Lucy. Delicious food and wine (even the meals we cooked ourselves!) and a lovely group of people to share it with. The house has been fully restored and the rooms were very comfortable.

Our holiday was a wonderful experience and very well organised. Our hosts Lucy and Simon were always thinking about our enjoyment and welfare and were keen to make our stay with them as memorable as possible. The food was beautifully prepared and together with the fantastic wines our evening meals were always anticipated with great relish! Our guides were great fun to be with and also very knowledgeable and we learnt so much about the geology, wildlife and history of the area which was amazing! Each of our rooms had fabulous views and a lovely balcony - they were warm, pretty and very comfortable. The ensuite was also perfect with plenty of space and modern facilities. There was a lovely sitting room downstairs with a roaring fire and tea and coffee making facilities together with many interesting wildlife and geology books to read. The holiday was excellent and I would highly recommend!

Thank you Helen for your detailed review! We are so glad you enjoyed staying at Casa Allué during our Winter Walking Week, mixing snowshoe walking with normal hikes. We particularly enjoyed preparing the vegan meal options for you, from our home-made oat milk for breakfast to the vegan gourmet evening meals. To hear that you looked forward to these with great relish is really gratifying, thank you. We love sharing our enthusiasm for this beautiful area where we live, and we look forward to seeing you back again on a different activity holiday.

We had a truly wonderful time at Casa Allué. The house is traditional and full of character, but also made very comfortable by the work that has been done on it. The food is very good restaurant standard and it is washed down by excellent local wine. Our programme of guided walking was exceptional, taking us into very special places in the Pyrenees. Lucy and Simon and Alberto have encyclopaedic knowledge of the geology, wildlife and culture of the area which very much enhances the walking. The week was a delight from beginning to end.

Thanks Alan! We are delighted you liked the house as well as our gourmet meals! A lot of our food is sourced from our organic veg garden and all the wines are from the nearby Somontano region. What makes our walking holidays special is that our guests go home with a new found appreciation of the geology, wildlife and history of this spectacular area

We feel so fortunate to have been able to go on this wonderful Hiking, Cultural and Cooking Holiday in the Pyrenees. We saw so much and learned a great deal about the Pyrenees: geology, flora and fauna and surrounding area from Simon, Lucy and their terrific and knowledgeable guides. All this while staying in their very comfortable Casa Allue, eating very healthy and yummy food, getting great exercise in the most gorgeous surroundings and breathing the freshest air imaginable. I have to believe this is a truly unique holiday and adventure in the Pyrenees, especially for someone who is not fluent in Spanish. We could never have put this trip together on our own. Thank you Lucy, Simon and Aragon Active for your hospitality and generosity in sharing your knowledge with us.
