Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fabulous small site, lovely level pitches. Toilet and shower block basic and due to be upgraded soon but there was always plenty of hot water and they were very clean. Tony and his wife were very welcoming and friendly, I will definitely be staying here again.

Perfect site with flat pitches for all types in great surroundings. Late booking and arrival with no fuss. It’s under new ownership and a family run business. Tony and his wife were very helpful and friendly and cared for the site. Was camping with my two youngest who absolutely loved it - particularly watching the ducks. There’s lots to explore round the lake and also plenty of local area activities if you need. Toilets and facilities were really clean, although I understand planning to be refurbed. We will be coming back without a doubt. Recommended A+++.

New owners just taken over lovely couple & very helpful. Nice little quaint place, very peaceful, toilet & shower block basic but adequate but owners have put in for planning permission to build a new one so can’t wait to see the new block soon, we would definitely return. There is a local pub The Green Man within walking distance bit disappointed that it wasn’t dog friendly inside & a bit to cold to eat outside, coffee shop Hot Numbers Rostery also within walking distance very good & dog friendly.

We booked to stay here as we were visiting duxford IWM, a short car journey away from this site. It is a lovely little camp site with friendly owners, suitable for caravans and tents, I would say it is quite a basic site with toilet and shower facilities, mains hook up points are available also. Not much else to say really... we will most likely return here in the future! 😎👍

Just home from a great weekend at Shepreth Mill campsite. The owner Tim is very friendly and helpful and very welcoming. The site is beautiful. Very peaceful and surrounded by nature. The location is perfect. A couple of pubs nearby with great food. Walking distance to the train station with only 2 stops into Cambridge. We had a wonderful weekend here and highly recommended. We shall definitely be back. Thanks Tim for your kind hospitality. Take care. Best wishes, Justine & Rob.

This site was just what we needed, calm and peaceful and views and birdsong, ducks etc. One night a few other quiet people and second night we had the whole field/facilities to ourselves. Clean and level. Tim was easygoing and friendly, but not overso.

We visited during the bank holiday. Although the facilities were open which was fab they were quite basic which is easy to deal with. We were just thankful for them to be honest. Considering the current state of affairs with coronavirus there seemed to be little provision for people to clean up after themselves and the one and only hand sanitiser unit was not working. The ‘pitches’ are not well suited to heavy trailers or caravans and the grass is quite long so it was a miracle we didn’t have a trip to A&E with at least one broken ankle due to the hidden pot holes and u even ground. We found it very pricey for what is essentially minimally maintained field with basic facilities and a couple of electric hook ups. We were charged £7.50 per night per person plus £8.00 per night for the unit including electric hook up. The ‘hard standings’ aren’t much different except they have a few patches of hardcore. I have never seen a top up card system before and we did run out of electric and have to go on to emergency until we could get extra credit from the owner. I was thankful it didn’t happen at night when we were u aware so we didn’t lose all contents of the fridge. The owner is really friendly and helpful when approached and to be honest it wouldn’t take it of work to get the site really nice as the surroundings are lovely. However, I don’t think we would visit again.

we are trying to build something of note but its not easy as as i am badly disabled, having been crushed by a very large lorry some years ago. I find it very difficult to work at times, I have been smashed from my head to my feet, including both feet and my head! plus much else! sanitiser seems to be a problem, its new and we will replace it, sorry its a pain! Trying to rebuild my life is very hard and its causing my doctors at the six hospitals I frequent problems, perhaps I should go back on benefits, it might suit everyone!

Although the facilities are quite basic we liked this site because it was peaceful, and quiet, well situated for local attractions, and Tim the owner was very friendly, and helpful. Also reasonably priced with no unnecessary extras. All in all a good site which we would definitely use again.

I've stayed here on numerous occasions and always been made to feel at home with the warm hospitality of Tim and Family. The campsite is a nice quiet site with a small lake and stream within its borders. It is located literally on the doorstep of an RSPB reserve so fantastic for Bird lovers. Toilets and showers are good and its close to 2 or 3 great pubs both within walking distance of the campsite. I would definatly recommend this site to any seasoned caravanner, campervanner or wildlife enthusiast . keep up the good work all. Huw Matthews. A.K.A The Solar guru

Small site directly off busy & noisy A10 so handy for Royston, Cambridge & the popular Duxford Air Museum. The excellent Green Man pub is a few minutes walk and highly recommended for their Sunday lunches and well kept beers; the Plough in Shepreth proper is also pleasant with a range of pricy hand pulled ales , regular entertainment but not good value in my opinion. At Shepreth Mill the owners have undertaken major refurbishment, enterance gate posts, wash block etc but all the projects have been left unfinished , and to a poor standard. There is a untidy and rather neglected feel which is a shame and this site requires more care and attention and effort to get it up to scratch . The w/c & wash basins need regular cleaning with the undercover sink areas unswept with random pieces of timber lying around. The Mens urinal was blocked for 3 weeks !!, both cold water taps in out door sinks still not working after 3 months, no soap dispensers in both male & female wash rooms , gate posts should be fitted with security gates. Essentially a site of two halves; one side of the track is the River Shep and a large lake the other with the whole boundary wooded with tall mature trees and bushes. Location attracts heron, ducks, drakes, moor hens and the ' resident ' swan couple who nest and rear their signets there.

Mr Matthews was constantly asked to leave, he drank heavily, and was rude to others. When I tried to get to talk to him he would not answer his door, fearing for his safety I called the police, that was the only way we could get him off the property. At times we did not clean the toilets in the hope he would leave. At times I was too ill to work myself, I am badly disabled trying to get back into business. This is hard enough without people like Mr Matthews causing trouble
