We stopped here for 2 nights after a long drive from San Christobel and were immediately welcomed with a refreshing drink into the magnificent thatched central building. Raphael was extremely hospitable as were his staff and we loved fact there are only 7 suites and the overall layout of the hotel. We managed to spot the small alligator in the...

We were visiting several of the Mayan sites, and it soon became apparent that Chiapas (the state of Mexico in which the sites are located) is not really Mexican at all, in that Aztec/Spanish fusion. Chiapas is part of old Mayan lands, and indeed it still is. There are more than 5m Mayans still living in this region, Guatamala, and...

Arriving to the Quinta Chanabnal after a three hour drive from San Cristobal was nothing short of extraordinary! It is a treasure waiting to be discovered that is located in what first appears to be a hidden corner of the jungle. All of the details matter here, and all is taken care of: the grounds are carefully kept; the rooms...

This is a lovely place to stay - lovely grounds and very nice rooms, swimming pools that provide welcome relief from the heat, great food, excellent service and howler monkeys! It's a destination in itself. It's a lovely place to rest & relax for a few days,, never mind being very close to spectacular Palenque. I wish I could have...

Spent three days with my wife and two toddlers. Had an amazing time: the staff is superb, as is the restaurant menu, the rooms, and the swimming pools. To top things off, two semi domesticated howler monkeys come to visit now and then! Definitely the right place to stay. Wish we could stay longer.

We had 2 rooms - the Presidential suite (large, comfortable, nice covered outside terrace & small plunge pool) & an upper grade room. All very well presented and real attention to detail by Raphael, the German Italian owner. Raphael is very knowledgeable about all things Mayan and a very good host. Service is friendly, helpful and calm. All nicely efficient....

This hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. We were greeted by the proprietor and his concierge (by name) when we arrived late after a long drive from Campeche. There was no paperwork hassle, and staff parked our car for us. Unlike other hotels, the Concierge, Gustavo, was amazing. He offered us a complimentary drink, walked us through the property,...

This boutique hotel with only 8 units in the premises cannot be outdone if you are looking for a place to stay in Palenque. It is truly a unique Mayan inspired little resort that surrounds you with luxurious provisions. Nature is all around you, 360 degrees- lush grounds filled with tropical plants, trees, little lake. Late afternoon, you will see...

This hotel is like a dream oasis after a hot day exploring the magnificent ruins in Palenque. Our rooms were exquisite and the pool and its jungle setting was also. We loved every minute we were there.
