Nice location close to everything, shuttles that take to the ruins are few minutes walk away. Shared dorm is spacious, beds are comfortable. Is very clean. At the time of my stay was only 1 prson there so was calm. Staff is very helpful. Just is too hot in the room since is top, third floor and misding a/c. There are small fans to use but no much help during the day. Later in the night when temperature drops down is more favorable. There is no a kitchen and some commun area. The street is very busy and noisy since early in the morning, the cars and people yeling. For a short stay is acceptable.
I had a reservation when I arrived and began checking in. The girl at reception informed me they hadn't had wifi for the last day. I asked her to lower the price since I had specifically booked this hotel due to other great reviews on wifi. I would need to go to cafe which would cost me more money. She told me she couldn't but would check with the owner. Another woman walked in 5 minutes later and I started explaining my thoughts to her. She repeatedly cut me off and raised her voice at me. She told me her sister down the street didn't have wifi, no where did. I asked her to stop yelling at me and to please let me explain myself. She continued cutting me off, while smiling and laughing with the first employee, and picked up the phone to call the actual owner. I could hardly speak (which is rare!) because of her yelling and cutting me off. I told her I felt uncomfortable there since she was yelling at me but she put me on the phone with the owner. He repeatedly told me that not having wifi was beyond their control and that they would not lower the price. I told him again that I wanted to leave because the woman had yelled at me and made me feel uncomfortable. I left crying and walked across the street to inquire about a room and wifi. A nice man let me use their wifi for a few minutes. I'm disappointed the staff of this hotel would mislead me then berate me for asking for a fair deal…
We stayed two nights here in a double room on our way to see the ruins. This Posada is a great option to consider if your looking for somewhere cheap and cheerful with no frills. The double room is perfectly adequate, with plenty of room, and a clean and relatively large bathroom. Staff have little to no English - but we bonded watching a spectacular thunderstorm from the stairwell window.
Well, As the title is one of the cheapest option that u can get in town. The staff is helpful and warm, the place is really easy to get from the bus station. It's really basic, and be prepared to suffer the high temperature during the night. The ac is not in the dorm so prepare yourself. It's good for one or 2 nights
Solid and cheap hostel in Palenque. I stayed in the dorm room, which hosts quite a few people, but due to the layout it isnt really noticeable. There are no bunkbeds(!!), so everyone has its own single bed in the dorm, which is quite unusual :) The hostel was super clean on my arrival and the Wifi is quite strong - no problem watching youtube videos in bed. Plus it is only a 5 minute walk from the Bus station. There are lockers if you have your own lock. Sadly there is not really a common area for people to hang out, nor a kitchen to use. They dont offer breakfast or laundry service. Perfect for a short stay and I you travel on a budget! As always you get what you pay for! (In a very neutral way! - clean, solid, cheap service, but nothing fancy)
