The Cridford is a beautiful ancient Devon Longhouse set in the idyllic village of Trusham in the heart of the Teign valley. 20 minutes drive to Exeter, the coast and on the eastern edge of Dartmoor National Park. We have no street lights and it is very quiet. Free WIFI access. All rooms are ensuite, have tea/coffee making facilities and large screen televisions. Our family room sleeps up to 4. Our bar and restaurant serves premium drinks and delicious food 7 days a week.
The perfect place to explore south Devon and beyond.

Stayed here for two nights. On arrival we were informed that there would be a £10 charge per dog per night which added an extra £40 onto our stay. This was not explained on booking.com where I booked the hotel through. When we arrived there was a limited choice of food and the food was expensive. Breakfast lovely and all amenities in the room and reasonably priced beer in the bar downstairs. The girl behind the bar very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. The work didn’t work in the rooms which was disappointing as needed to contact family members who were caring for our animals at the time and there is no signal either. We wouldn’t stay here again.

Thanks for your feedback Laura it’s really appreciated. So sorry for any poor communication regarding the dogs. Booking.com is automated so we do include information about dogs and directions etc in the confirmation email. Sorry you missed it, I’ll review the email and see if we can make it any clearer.

We had lunch today at the Cridfords Inn as a family group of 6. The service was warm, friendly and genuinely helpful. Great choice of dishes all freshly prepared. The food was beautifully presented and incredibly tasty. It's lovely to come to such a peaceful location and be able to eat great food in such an ancient and interesting building.

I just wanted to say thank you. Me and my partner were out for a drive when we came across your country pub, we had to stop for a drink as we thought how beautiful the place was.The food smelt so good that we asked if the kitchen was still open it wasn't but after a quick call to the kitchen they were able to serve us anyway. The food was so good! Everything was perfect but I have to say the best cauliflower cheese I have ever been served while eating out. I also have to give a shout out to everyone working today they were so professional and their service was brilliant. highly recommend

Disappointed. We were given a voucher for our anniversary as we had raved about this place some years ago. It has since changed owners and the menu had also changed. Firstly it was only a bad menu as it was a Tuesday night. Not clear on the website so that was our first key done. Not to worry. As a VIP Member I received a free bottle of wine. Very good. We ordered our choices and the starters were prompt and good. The soy and sesame cauliflower was particularly good (some items on the menus have a Korean twist). Took a while for the main courses but we were with friends so happy to chat a while. Selection of plates. Scampi (only six pieces) so small portion. Fish and chips. Not fresh fish. Ham and eggs. And a burger. Which was clearly overlooked it was burnt and dry. It was returned to the kitchen and we had an apology from the owner and was taken off our bill. Waited a while for his fresh burger. We had all finished our meals when his arrived and again. Dry and very over cooked. He didn’t eat it. I think then we were seen as “trouble” because the service which was ok changed to less than courteous. The chef came out to apologise about he burgers and said it was “probed” the the standard by law ! Quite honestly a burger with good meat can be served less than burnt. It was clearly good meat. But not respected by the chef. Never mind. Lesson learned. Wasted our voucher but got free wine. So just means we won’t be returning. Shame because it’s a lovely pub and a beautiful village. …

An excellent Devon pub with the normal dodgy access (narrow lanes) you would expect but good sized car park. Friendly greeting on arrival and shown to table. Drinks were excellent and well priced though a little slow in coming as only one person on the bar who was also doing coffee. The pub was busy and our food arrived promptly. It was of a good standard though perhaps a little expensive for what you received. The vegan option was delicious but small and no attempt was made to provide a vegan cauliflower cheese or alternative given the roasts came with such. The staff were great but a little stressed as it was busy. We were asked to leave our table by the landlady after we had requested the bill but whilst we hadn’t finished our drinks in a slightly abrupt manner which whilst not being terribly professional was I guess as a result of the pub being busy. Whilst it’s terribly difficult to estimate the staff required they should of had more to avoid the stress. If you have a limited time on a table it should also be made clear at the time of booking. We weren’t a cheap table. Nearly £100 for two! We did feel a little rushed from our table which is a shame as overall it’s a great pub and we would still recommend it.…

Took my new born for his first outing to the cridford inn, staff very friendly and helpful by even placing our party in a quiet area of the pub. The food was outstanding, highly recommend the scallop starter, flavours where incredible. As was the Sunday roast, everything was perfect especially the beef served with seasonal greens as a side. Can not fault one bit. Cant wait to return.

Had another wonderful weekend at the Cridford Inn. Four of us stayed in The Nest which was clean and comfortable - they put an extra bed in for us as we were a group of friends, which worked well and was only £10 extra per night. Breakfast was great and well worth paying for, and our evening meals were wonderful. The Venison and Pigeon were particular highlights but the cheaper options such as the Pork and Fish and Chips were very good too. A lovely bar and restaurant to come back to, with the fires roaring, after a long day walking on Dartmoor or on the Southwest Coast Path. Thank you Ness and team. See you next year!

The food was excellent, the staff really nice and helpful, there was lots to do in the area and loads of lovely walks for me and my dog. Real history about the place.. The breakfast really set me up for the day. A couple of bridle paths near the inn to walk my dog before breakfast. I would definitely come back.
