This place is a genuine Devon long house which dates back to before Alfred the Great. It was remodelled after the Conquest- in 1081 according to the date stOnes preserved in the floor of the restaurant ( always assuming the Julian calendar was then in use). It oozes charm and character from every ancient beam and fireplace with walls several feet...

After a 5 hour journey on the deplorable M5 arrived at The Cridford for a 2 night stay plus a dinner party. Upon entering the bar a Hound seemingly attacked me until I realised he was very friendly like all the staff and management here. This place is clearly on the up supported by Chef (s) who actually know what...

My husband and I visited here today after visiting the canonteign falls. Really lovely traditional pub, gorgeous lit log burner, nice owner who knows his stuff and good local knowledge. I had a sauvignon blanc which was really good quality wine. We both had a roast dinner which was nice and tasty- although my only constructive criticism would be the...

Called in for a meal with our 2 greyhounds after viewing a house in the area. Great sense of history, extremely friendly and great food and service. Our dogs were no problem. Very happy that this will soon be our 'local'!

Stayed here Saturday night as a stopover to plymouth and glad i did. The Cridford Inn is as you'd expect from the photos, Quaint. A small bar with a very good selection of spirts. Some local ales and very friendly service. The food was really good, a varied selection from fish to steak to lasagne. We stayed in "the nest"...

We found this place by accident while looking for nearby Canonteign Falls waterfall (also worth a visit). On the day we were there they were doing Pie and a Pint for £10.... delicious home made food! My wife had Paella which was also delicious. They have great real ales and a large selection off Gins, Vodkas and single malt Whisky....

Stayed here in April 2015 after a wedding at the Great Barn near by. Lovely room and ensuite, very cosy and quaint. It is a bit out of the way, nothing much around it, but was perfect for us. The lady on reception/bar was very friendly. We had full english breakfast which was delicious. Would definitely come back here.

Good afternoon Rachel B, Many thanks for taking the time to leave a review and think of us from your stay back in April. I'm afraid we cannot take credit for this as it was under the previous ownership, however, we hope to have maintained the quality that you experienced. Many thanks George N
