Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A very tired building which we believe is scheduled for renovation. Good location for business and one night stopovers. Not particularly family friendly but this is probably not its purpose. Staff were faultless friendly and welcoming, very service orientated.

Clean and well run Travel lodge with a handy diner adjacent. Diner has gluten free food. Staff were pleasant and room was nice and big. bathroom and room were clean. Not too noisy although some traffic noise. Handy for Madingly Park and Ride.

Wouldn’t kennel my dog in this hotel. To start with the building was run down, the room was even worse. The lights in the room flickered constantly and the staff had left the windows open all day meaning it was FREEZING on entry. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting and my mum had to clean it again before I could shower. The room was miserable and unclean, felt like a prison cell. The bedding had blood stains on it and was generally unclean. We couldn’t sleep all night as the person above us was pacing their bedroom all night. There was also a low humming noise which sounded like a car idling outside or someone hoovering. We couldn’t work out where it was coming from but it lasted all night. We stayed in this hotel as I was due to have surgery at Addenbrooke’s the next morning, and I was actually more comfortable staying in the hospital the following night. Didn’t sleep a wink and will not be booking a travelodge again.

We have stayed at this Travelodge several times and staff have always been friendly. It is located just off the A14 and you can easily drive to the park and ride near the American Cemetery. The parking is free and it only costs £3.50 return fare into Cambridge centre. Our room was clean, warm and comfortable. Great value for the location.

This Travelodge feels like it's off the beaten track slightly, which was fine as we just wanted a base whilst we were visiting Cambridge for a few days. It is a 15 min drive to the city centre, although city centre parking is extortionate in Cambridge, so we parked in Castle Hill car park, about a 10 min walk to the city centre and £20 cheaper! Car parking at the Travelodge is easy and free. On entering it felt like we had stepped back in time. It is very dated and the first thing I thought was it could do with a good hoover! The guy behind reception was very blunt. When we arrived we asked about breakfast and if they had a restaurant. His response was 'obviously not'! Now bear in mind we had just walked through the door having never been here before this was not obvious, but he answered my other half like it was the most stupid thing he'd ever heard! Then, instead of telling us about their breakfast to go option, he directed us to Tesco! Fortunately our room was a lot cleaner than the reception area and corridors. All we want for a decent stay is a clean room, comfy bed and good shower and all that was there. The only issue we had with the room was a leaking toilet. The best thing about the Travelodge location is Herbie's American diner across the car park. Would definitely recommend a visit here and make sure you try their cakes. Overall, not the best example of a Travelodge and we wouldn't return.

It was clean enough but the toilet was wobbly, towels insufficient, no soap in the sink dispenser, sheet barely fitted the bed, horrid cheap curtains, no top up for tea/coffee, no clean towels, no bin emptying (did put up the 'top me up' sign by specified time).

I managed to book my room very quickly and the staff were great and helped me check in. They also were very kind to help me with the booking since I had just come from a very far drive and I really appreciated that, highly recommended the place if you are staying. 😀
