I cannot fault this little gem of a B and B in any way whatsoever. The room was clean, tastefully decorated and had a really comfortable bed. The breakfast was good and Jane, our host, was absolutely brilliant. She was friendly, informative and really made you feel at home. Parking was not a problem and I will certainly stay there again on my next trip to Charante,

We surprised Jane by turning up 20 minutes after booking with Booking.com!. She was however amazingly welcoming and adaptable. Jane recommended a local restaurant for us and we went off to eat while she made our room up. The room and bathroom are tastefully decorated and furnished and the bed was comfortable. Jane has thought of the details, like bottles of water by the bed each night, lovely thick white towels, toiletteries and tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast was good, the croissants and pain au chocolate were delicious with fruit, yoghurts, bread and fresh orange juice, the perfect way to start the day. Jane couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. We were on a house hunting trip in the area and this was the perfect Base to stop. We hope to share a glass or two of wine with Jane in the future.

Jane was a great host, full of useful information about the area and the local wine. The room was exceptionally clean and bright with complimentary coffee and a bottle of wine. Wonderful breakfast, nothing about La Cour to dislike. Definitely go back.

Home from home is used all too often to describe many Bed and Breakfast’s yet it couldn’t be more apt in describing Le Cour. Jane, our hostess, literally could not have done anything more to make us feel more warmly welcome, from the bottle of chilled local wine awaiting in our room (perfect after an 8 hour drive), to the children’s DVD’s lined up for us to immediately placate the tired babies. An enthusiastic tour around the house and kitchens, courtyard and gardens helped us settle in even further as did a relaxing glass of yet more local wine in the kitchen afterwards. Our hostess even went so far as to help us navigate the town to take the children to the local restaurant for an excellent evening meal; introductions to the local inhabitants made for a truly memorable evening. The location of the town is ideal for exploring this region and Le Cour makes for a more than perfect base from which to head out in the morning. The inviting courtyard in which to relax after a long day’s exploration and the newly and beautifully furnished rooms inviting you to sleep made for a remarkable stay. I wouldn’t hesitate in returning or recommending to anyone wishing to visit the beautiful Charente Region. Our first visit is most certainly not going to be the last. Le Cour and La Charente, it seems, are a perfect match.
