Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

3 couples- Sunday lunch…..welcome was warm, food was outstanding, service from Scott and co was fabulous and the mixologist cocktails Scott prepared were gorgeous!! In honesty we weren’t expecting much - it far surpassed all our expectations and we will definitely be using the Bottle much more! Gluten-free menu was wonderful and extensive!! I visited the Leather Bottle pub for Sunday lunch with my group of 18 hikers. Everybody was very impressed with the pub. Our lunches were pre-ordered and were served on the day very efficiently and professionally by the friendly staff. The pub is full of charm and historical interest. The quality of the food was amazing. I would highly recommend. Phil Smyth

Lovely Olde fashioned pub with a Dickens theme. Nice pub garden, fab traditional English breakfast served for b&b residents. Large rooms with en-suite, tea and coffee facilities regularly replenished. Perfect location for visiting Brand Hatch. Secure parking and friendly staff.

Let us down big time, trying to book a wedding after party here, strung along saying yes we can do this and confirmed menu options and how many people. Speaking to them through email, tried to called but never answered, messaged at the beginning of june. Confirming all the plans. Today we called only to be told that august is the busiest month and over 350 people a day in august, I’m surprised as customers are never guaranteed especially this day and age. They couldn’t afford to shut the kitchen down for an hour for us. They’ve just lost £800 booking and food and drinks on tops which WAS guaranteed. Waste of time.

Response from The Leather Bottle , Owner at The Leather Bottle
Responded 19 Aug 2023
Hi Chloe, This was just an enquiry not a reservation, Nothing at all was ever confirmed, no deposit ever paid no email of confirmation ever sent between us. The fact that you wanted us to close the kitchen for your small party is quiet outrageous if i’m being honest. I hope you managed to find somewhere to accommodate you.

Went for a light lunch, been quite a few times in the last year and really enjoyed food then BUT this time was a different menu, starters were over priced for what you get and the Crab and avocado stack- handful of lettuce with one slice of avocado and a spoonful of crab meat, Not a stack needed more layers of advocardo and crab for the price. Beetroot tart was lovely but pricey. Definitely disappointed. As I said we have eaten here before and the sweet potato fries were lovely as usual.

Visited here with a couple of friends after a recommendation. Lovely setting in the small village of Cobham. Traditional 17th century pub serving food and a decent pint. Has a good size garden for the Summer. Good service and atmosphere. Worth a visit after a nice walk around the surrounding countryside or without the walk! Apparently the pub is mentioned in one of Dickens novels!

Lovely little village location. Friendly and welcoming staff from start to finish. On booking accommodation we didn't realise the historical significance of area and building... Charles Dickins stayed here often and mentions Cobham in Pickwick papers. Food was good, although best to check service times as menu is limited (seasonal) and service on Sunday we missed out on. Mushrooms on breakfast were tasty.. freshly picked and cooked by chef Quirky 17th century building good old creaky floorboards and lots of surprises to discover as you take it all in

In celebrating an extended family gathering we were keen that it was hosted really well. It was perfect. Keri and the team worked hard to ensure that everything went well. The staff looked after us well, and the food was delicious, catering for a wide variety of tastes. We were made to feel so welcome and completely at home. I shall treasure the family photo taken outside the Leather Bottle.
