Just got back home from a lovely break for my daughters 11th birthday. After reading reviews on here I had been worried but I have no complaints at all... Lodge was lovely (maid marion) basics but clean and everything you would need. It was a cold Weekend and we ended up at A and E with our youngest due to...

We have just returned from our break at Sherwood Castle Holiday Forest enjoying a fantastic weekend. I travelled with a friend and our two daughters aged 9 and 10, and they just loved it here. Our cabin was very clean and tidy, beds made up on arrival everything you need and in beautiful woodland. We particularly enjoyed the log burner,...

Arrived at Sherwood Castle Holiday village, bit tricky to find so al tell you if you come from Rufford Old Road go around 400yds through the ford (river in road) go another 200yds and it's on your left. Check in was simple, left a £15 deposit for gas & electric as this is extra on some lodges! Got to the...

Just had a great long weekend break, me hubby and the dog. Simple, quick check in, where we purchased logs at reception. They then delivered them to our lodge, very nice thank you. Cheaper at the park too than at Tesco down the road. Worth checking your electricity meter reading as you arrive. They had recorded ours incorrectly but as...

I sometimes think that some of my fellow reviewers visit a different place to me. Sherwood Castle Holiday Forest does exactly what it says on the tin!!! Lovely lodge, beautiful forest surroundings and very accommodating staff (Bridget in particular!) I read that some people complained about not having towels but if you read the brochure carefully it does tell you...

I have recently spend New Year with 3 generations of my family to celebrate my husbands 60th birthday and new year. We chose two lodges next to each other. Each lodge had everything you would need for a short break, with good heating and all amenities. The site has a basic shop, small swimming pool, small park, crazy golf, small...

Bit of a con really. No towels, but we're told they should be there, tried to charge me but soon put that straight! No BBQ point unlike every other one. Activities are bluntly disorganised especially when it's cold ! Cabins could be cleaner. On arrival despite it clearly stating 2 spaces per cabin I had no parking space, not happy...

We stayed in a Robin Hood cabin which was good for a couple and child. Cabin was fine for a long weekend if I was staying longer would have preferred a more comfortable bed. Spa bath was very noisy so not that relaxing. Kitchen had everything we needed for a short stay and there was a small dining table. Settee...

We booked last minute for a 4 night break in number 24 woodlander cabin. The cabin itself was nice, cosy and clean. Gas and electric included which was perfect with the cold nights and the cabin itself got warm quick so we never felt cold. The bed was comfy and we all had good nights sleep. The only 'problem' we...
