A beautifully presented guest house with an iconic "home" style, with the marvellous hosts Mike and Sheila ensuring your stay is perfect. The bedroom is very well appointed and has those extra touches of fresh milk in the fridge and a constantly re-stocked tea and coffee tray. The adjoining bathroom is equally stylish - complete with both a bath and separate shower!! Each morning the day would begin with a gorgeous breakfast as served by Mike with all those extra touches rarely seen these days, a brilliant start to the day!

This guest house is without doubt and exception absolutely fantastic.
The hosts Sheila & Mike are so friendly, attentive and nothing is too much trouble for them to make their guests stay a lovely one.
They have thought of everything a guest would need for a relaxing stay. They even include eye masks, ear plugs, toiletries, clothes brush, a multiple socket with usb ports, a small torch for guest use, as well as a fridge full of fresh milk for your hot drink selection… oh and free working WiFi.
I went with a friend and booked a ‘twin room’ (room 3). Not twin beds huddled in a small room. I had my own room with what was effectively a small double bed with TV, whilst my friend had his own room with a large single bed with TV too. Down our own corridor was the spacious bathroom with large bath, shower, sink, toilet, and selection of toiletries etc.
The beds, duvets, pillows, chairs, and guest lounge are for your comfort, with all decor to a very high standard.
Breakfast was well cooked, well presented, with fresh ingredients. Delicious.
There is plenty of parking in the front garden area,
£40pp for B&B is unbelievable value for this guest house.
We stayed here as visiting the Palace Theatre in centre of Newark, which was approx 10 minute drive (£8 taxi).

My husband and I stayed here for the weekend and had a wonderful time. My husband booked the lodge as he had business in Newark.
The room we had was very clean warm and tastefully decorated. We had tea and coffee facilities in our room and fresh milk was also provided in a fridge in the hallway.
We had WiFi and plenty of sockets for gadgets.
The en suite was a good size clean and had plenty of shampoo and conditioner as well as other extras.
We had a great sleep the bed linen was clean and fresh and the bed was very comfortable. It was very quiet also.
The breakfast comprised of cereal to start although you could have had melon of grapefruit and we had a full English which was cooked very nicely and toast also.
The hosts Mike and Sheila were lovely and couldn't have been more helpful. We will definitely return. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

This guest house is fantastic, so friendly and has a homely feel, the owners actually bother to speak to you and make you feel welcome. We he’s been three times over 10 years and will make tim to go back time and time again . The food is outstanding and very well presented and the rooms are carefully decorated with a lot of time and thought going in to them .

The morning we left was mixed with laughter with the other guests and regret that we were leaving shortly.

The price is very reasonable and a fraction of the hotel around the corner.

We will be going back a few times over the next few months.

This was our second time here and definitely wont be our last. Its by far the best guesthouse we have ever stayed at. The decor is amazing. Elegant and classy and so luxurious.
The owners are so friendly and made us feel so welcome.
The breakfast was beautiful, fresh melon slices followed by a gourmet full english breakfast with a selection of drinks and cereals. Lots of choice.
Our room was perfect. Warm, elegant and spotlessly clean.
We cant wait to go back
Thank you so much x

We must have chosen the hottest night of the year to stay but fortunately we had a room with double aspect windows which did allow for some flow through of air. The property is set in pretty gardens with off road parking and is gloriously decorated with a beautifully eclectic mix of furniture and accessories reflecting the owners time in South Africa. The rooms and bathroom were as you would expect, spotlessly clean and every eventuality had been thought of, chargers, tea, coffee, milk, soaps, hairdryer, ear plugs, torch, sewing kit and more........the list goes on. Fabulous breakfast served with the owners inimitable style in a lovely dining room. Oh, I forgot to mention, it was also amazing value for money.

The "twin suite" room configuration was ideal for us. Very welcoming hosts, attentive to detail, nothing was too much trouble. Splendid breakfast with excellent options: my wife's gluten- and dairy-free diet was carefully catered for. Lavish decor as well! Mid-range price for a luxury stay!

Lovely guest house with very friendly and welcoming hosts, Sheila and Mike.

They really have set out to make sure their guests are well looked after during their stay: lots of welcome extra touches, like the fridge containing fresh milk and additional water.

Perfect guest house.

We stayed here last weekend and wow what a lovely place. The hosts are so welcoming nothing is to much trouble. The room was very spacious, clean and beautifully furnished.
You are welcomed by the hosts when you check in a sign a register which is so nice in these days of computers.
We stayed in room 2 which was just fabulous, the decor was very African with a big comfy bed and an en suite to die for!!
i would recommend this to anyone looking for somewhere to stay while visiting the area either for pleasure or work.

What an amazing place! Just love the whole experience and it is an experience! Sheila and Michael are wonderful hosts and nothing is too much trouble.
I was with my mum and we were in town for her little brothers 90th birthday we were put in The Suite mum likes her own room and room 3 The Suite is perfect with two bedrooms and a beautiful bathroom, tea and coffee making facilities are perfectly positioned in the hallway . The rooms are cosy and stunningly decorated in the same style as the rest of the house. Great for family members or girlfriends who want to be together but have some privacy or even partners where one snores lol as you can’t hear anything in the other room when the doors are closed.
Breakfast is a very elegant affair beautifully presented and served reflecting the general 5* accommodations.
This is the 2nd time I’ve stayed here and I will definitely be back !!
