Had an amazing stay with my wife and I at the Compton House. We were on a trip to Grimsby (ABBA show) and decided to stop at the Compton House. Amazing room, great communication with Lisa (host) (she even booked us a lovely diner table at a nearby restaurant) and excellent breakfast. We had a lovely and interesting chat with...

Lisa and all the staff made us feel so welcome from start to finish. The room was beautifully decorated and furnished, and it was a joy to spend time in the house. Only a short walk from the centre of town so ideally situated too. Thank you so much for making our stay so enjoyable.

A dozen of us stayed at Compton House this past weekend because we were all going along to a period costume masquerade ball at the newly restored Newark Assembly Rooms on Saturday evening. (Well worth a visit if you're in the area.) The house is beautiful, very comfortable and, for lack of a better word, well-appointed. It has character too....

I stayed at Compton House for a sort of Regency house party and Lisa was a fabulous host. She was very obliging and the cooking was phenomenal. The house is very clean and the bathrooms were nice and modern. The house stands about a ten-minute walk from the city centre, so very accessible. I look forward to coming here again...

Three visits in less than three months, this is our favourite place to stay in Newark. Lisa and her team make you feel really welcome, from luxurious rooms to hearty and healthy breakfasts, you cannot go wrong. Wonderful early Victorian town house tastefully converted into a top class Bed and Breakfast.

Dear Mehdi, Benjamin and Mariam, What a lovely review, thank you so very much. I had such a good time chatting with you all and wished you could have stayed longer. We are only too happy to help when there is a problem, like your car trouble, it is complicated enough without being in another country. I do hope we...

Stayed here with my family for an overnight en-route home to Suffolk. This is a beautiful period Georgian town house overlooking a pretty niche of Newark with lawns & flowers. House is full of comfortable 'homey' antiques & personal treasures which give a sense of peace, calm and happy family memories. One feels like one is staying with a friend....

It was great to see you and I'm so glad you had a good time here, I wlays love it when guests feel at home and completely relaxed. I do try to make most things myself and love making the Soda Bread, and the homemade muesli is always popular as there is no sugar in it! My latest addition to...

I stayed at Compton House once or twice a week for almost exactly a year and I can't recommend it highly enough. It has an immediately reassuring feel, the rooms are extremely comfortable, the food is wonderful (including home-made muesli and a different home-made fruit dish to try every morning), and Lisa and her team are about as hospitable as...
