Tucked away, more than halfway up a mountain in the Baronies in Northern Provence, the anticipation after driving up increasingly steep, twisting, tiny roads. Then the Plantevin. A hotel with a superb restaurant and with views to die for. Recently renovated by a young couple, the service is excellent, the rooms air conned when necessary, a swimming pool and total... More

This hotel is about 20 minutes outside Vaison La Romaine so is a perfect base if you want the peace and quiet of the countryside after a days sightseeing. Accessed from an uphill drive, the Hotel has smart modern rooms with very comfortable beds. The highlight here though has to be the terrace with its fabulous views and the quality... More

Our little treasured hide out in the south of France. We found it four years ago by accident and since then have come back every year at least twice. It is very private, very small and intimate. The rooms are all differently decorated and therefore individual. If you are lucky you get to try a new room with each visit.... More

With some trepidation, knowing nothing of this hotel, we drove up increasingly steep, twisting narrow roads, meeting no other vehicles and seeing no signs of habitation. Then we saw what looked like a 1950s Soviet-style building which turned out to be another hotel - but closed! Further up and then Hotel Plantevin. Built into the side of the mountain, the... More

We stayed here when cycling on the nearby Mont Ventoux. The location and setting for this hotel is fabulous. We did not arrive until after 9pm but they still gave us a lovely meal on a magnificent patio looking at the mountains. The best hotel we visited in France.

We were again here for three nights. Once again it was a great stay. It is extremely calm, here you are alone. Our host Christophe Auguste and his team were great. He cooks very good, he enjoys it and we enjoy it to taste it. The rooms impeccable one different from the other, all very clean. A very nice little... More

At €55 per person for room including dinner, so €110 for two, you get a nicely refurbished room with large bed, modern bathroom (with rain-head shower) and a fantastic view over the valley. the rooms are a bit noisy. You also get a no-choice menu for dinner. It is thus a bit bland and aimed at pleasing the majority. Entree... More

We chose this hotel because of its location, back from hiking up and down the Ventoux. The view from the terrace is lovely. Our room for 3 was average 3 single beds with not much space in between, opening on the back road...but the place is very quiet. Nice pool. We had an excellent dinner of fresh food and bbq...and...
