The accommodation is cosy and comfortable and the food is very good, well presented and filling for visitors on walking trips. Bedroom dormitories are small but very clean and adequate for families or school and college groups. Shower facilities are shared but adequate.

We stayed at YHA Boswinger in early October. We really enjoyed our stay and loved the quiet location. The hostel is very well run with friendly hosts...we ate several meals at the hostel which were very good value. We especially enjoyed the desserts!! Our room was perfect for the 3 of us and had a sea view. It was nice...

I had a wonderful stay here this summer. Very relaxed hostel, small with very helpful and friendly staff. Bathrooms, toilets and kitchen (-excellently equipped, bar scissors!) all kept beautifully clean. Idyllic location, peaceful countryside all around, and a beautiful small beach at the bottom of the winding country road! Beautifiu setting. Car definitely advised, though at least 4 beaches within...

Hello, thanks for your lovely comments. We've since been round and adjusted the door closers some more so they are a little quieter now, though in future we plan to replace the doors entirely. There's a chance we can do this over the next year or two, funds permitting. I'll order some more scissors for the self-catering kitchen...

This is such a lovely hostel and lucky me, we stayed 3 nights there. Everything is very inviting. The kitchen is a lovely place to meet and talk to people. You can eat outside and enjoy the coast view. The Loung invites people to sit down and relax. The people, who work there do that with passion and that´s what...

This is a top hostel. It is a convert cottage/house and is really comfortably fitted out, it is sited in the middle of the village with access to a couple of beaches (best by bike or car). The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful and cook great meals - the breakfast on offer must be one of the best hostel...

Thanks for the great review, James! We do actually have Wifi nowadays but it's lovely when people (like yourselves) are more interested in enjoying the area than getting online.

We have stayed at many youth hostels but this is the best so far. Friendly, relaxed staff - and guests! The food, particularly the evening meal, was of a much higher quality than usual at youth hostels. A beautiful location - the nearby Hemmick Beach is wonderful. You do need to come by car (we hired ours from Enterprise who...

Thanks for the high praise! So pleased you enjoyed your stay this much! We love the sense of isolation here too and agree it can be a challenge to get here on public transport, but there are some options mid-week to use the community bus and a local service, First 471. We're always happy to help people plan their journeys.

This hostel is located next to a wonderful beach and lush countryside. The staff was very helpful and kind, the veggie breakfast is very good value for money with a continental buffet including fresh croissant!

Great location, great staff, great place. We are staying here now and everything runs very smoothly. Staff are friendly and very helpful and the kitchen is well stocked and everything is clean and orderly. The beach, a short walk away, the coastline, the remote setting, the beauty of this area has been a great delight. Wifi works great.

Stayed here recently with a group of 27 students. Great location just 5 minutes to the beach - ideal for the students to let off some steam after a long journey. If you're arriving with a coach - check ahead for parking as the approach is down a narrow lane. Rob and team were really friendly and helpful and the...

Friendly, great breakfasts, well stocked kitchen, reasonable showers. Basic rooms, not updated and not many power sockets. 10 mins walk to the beach (or 75 mins to the next one) Blustery weather, rain and 30secs of sun compulsory on a walk round the headland! (Look out for Dartmoor ponies) We will stay longer next time!

Yes, please visit again, we love it when people embrace the landscape and our traditional hostel surroundings. The weather, though changeable, has warmed up lately - we were swimming in the sea last week! Bliss.
