We drove from port fairy to Canberra which took 12 hours, we called and told the person on reception we would be late because of traffic ect and they didn't mind at all, we arrived at around 1:00 am and they guy was up and ready waiting for us to arrive! We checked in and had two strange creepy old...

Originally i came to Canberra to re-new my passport. Shortly before Canberra my exhaust broke, so I needed a place to stay longer. Went on google and saw two hostels. Luckily I picked this one. Easily one of my favourites in Australia so far. It feels very personal. The owner is super laid back and talks to his guests. If...

I thought paying $98 for a single room would afford me a bed, towel, and ensuite. Yes, I had a bed, indeed a choice of 4 bunks, a room, yes I did, but no towel. My fault about the bunks. I didn't read the description properly, so I am not going to bag the joint for this. And the bedlinen,...

Seriously the best hostel I've been in so far while travelling Australia. Such nice people who run the place and the wifi is perfect, for once someone supplies decent wifi at no extra cost! Love the breakfast too! Thank you :) Dan Ref to Picture: (you can have more than one toast I just don't eat a lot for breakfast)

Stayed at Dickson Central for 2 nights this week and for Australian standards it's a good Hostel. You get free breakfast (bread, peanut butter, jam, milk, juice, cereal), the kitchen is big and clean (a lot of pans and pots in good condition). The rooms are clean, matresses are comfortable and the staff is very friendly. I felt welcomed and...

Three of us stayed here one night in a 6-person dorm. Thank god we were the only three in there because I have no idea how six people would have fit in the bedroom. It was so small that the three of us had a hard time moving around each other and had limited space for our luggage. That was...

I stayed at Dickson Central for 2 nights and loved my time there. The atmosphere is great and the staff are very helpful. The room and the bathroom were both very clean. The kitchen area is great - they have everything you need there. The free breakfast was really nice with different types of cereals, milk, juice, coffee and toast....

Don't wast your money on this disgusting hotel. All the information on the website is a lie, the room is shared with other and you have to go out for drink, toilet and shower which is totally inconvenient. The room is filled with perfume which have a strong smell that made me stay up all night. The smell of perfume could...

Stayed in a female dorm. Room was empty when I arrived, 2 beds unused the other 4 had been slept in. Garbage was full, floor, was dirty as if the room hadn't yet been cleaned after departing guests. At 12am a girl came in and jumped in the upper bunk. At 1.15am a male and a female entered the room I...

This was a pleasant surprise for a backpackers hostel - a warm welcome on arrival, then ushered to a clean comfortable room. The bathroom was adequate and the intention is for a makeover/renovation but the hot water showers were always clean. The kitchen/eating area was large and well equipped; spotlessly clean. A large fridge was available for guests' food. A...

“DO NOT accept room 110. It has no windows, is very small (with 2 bunk beds close together) and is right next to the kitchen and common area with a loud blaring TV. Possibly the worst room of the building. If you get it, ask for a discount (I should have).”
