Hands down my favourite place I have experienced. Staying literally 20 seconds from the beach and waking up to the sound of crashing waves and more often than not a local pod of dolphins doing their rounds! Had the best time of all my East Coast travels at Spot X. Met some friends for life, ate good food (and plenty...

What an incredible place. Literally a hop skip and a jump from the beach (and what a beautiful clean beach it is!), excellent surf instruction - they've all grown up in the water. It's in the middle of nowhere which in my opinion is ideal. far away from the bright lights of the city and the rat race. a really...

Awesome vibe on this place. Unfortunatley a very big group who arrived at once (40p). They advertised a 6h trip from Sydney but it ended up with 9-11h. Good food & nice people. Alot of party if you're into that. Lessons ok, but could been better. Extra costs may come. Suits people around 18-23y!

Spot X is definitely going to be my new go-to destination for little domestic getaways. There were about 100 or so people staying at the camp, which is located essentially right on on the sand. Mostly German, Swedish and British backpackers - me and my travel agent buddy were the only Aussies. Would highly recommend taking out the extras which...

I stayed at Spot X in September because I wanted to learn to surf and I definitely learnt enough and have since bought my own board. They teach you about Surf Etiquette and recognising conditions and rips, they will also get you standing up by the end of your first lesson. The staff were friendly and helpful and would get...

If your turning up in a fancy van with your own bathroom your in luck. It's s great place to explore the beach. If your camping and relying on the common bathroom facilities here's a few tips = shower first thing in the morning (with foot wear) and take a nose clamp with you (the toilets stink). The water pressure...

The Stanford psychology experiment by Zimbardo springs to mind.Staff are conforming to roles of authority but are abusing their "power" and being very rude. Lack of skills maybe as this is run by backpackers but there are ways of speaking to clients who are the business's bread and butter. Being in a academy you are in a grey area. Because...

Surf camp was amazing!! The surf lesson was so fun, the staff made you feel right at home. I definitely recommend everyone check it out! The storage container sleeping arrangement was so fun as well! The location was great, food and dancing was fun! The entire surf camp experience is a must if you come to Byron Bay! Yeeeewww!! 🤙🏻

There is a strange underlying atmosphere at the surf camp, with there being more staff than actual clients (backpackers). Accomodation was akin to basic hostel standards, as were the supplied meals. Nothing blew me away and was certainly not up to scratch for the price. My personal experience was made a little worse through the absence of working hot water...
