Very good location! Rooms are clean and spacious however a bit dated -TV in our room could use an upgrade and hung on brackets on the wall, furniture could be updated as well to give a more modern feel. We had a stunning view of the bridge from our room and the rooftop pool has picturesque views. Overall it's a...

We stayed four days at the Holiday Inn Old Sydney as our home base after a trans-pacific cruise in November. It turned out to be an excellent choice in more ways than one. We were able to walk to the hotel from the terminal with our luggage. (It had a small hill to go up, but was an easy walk.)...

This hotel couldn't be situated any better - sandwiched between the Harbour Bridge and Circular Quay, a 5-minute walk to the trains, and a 10-minute walk to the middle of the CBD. The property is very clean, and the room was what I'd expect from a Holiday Inn. The rooftop patio and pool are truly a hidden gem in Sydney...

Just had four nights in this hotel, paid for an upgrade for a room with a view. Well worth it, view of the opera house and bridge was amazing, also the cruise ships that dock every day. Check in was quick, and although the rooms are a bit dated, it is clean and has everything you need. Had a leak...

I'm so glad we decided to stay at this property. The location is just one easy block from Circular Quay in the old Rocks district with incredible historical buildings all around and a rooftop pool with harbour views to boot. I had a room on the first level which was lovely. I could open the windows and catch a breeze...

After a recent cruise finished in Sydney, my wife and I decided to stay an extra night and found a room at The Holiday Inn Old Sydney which is located in The Rocks a short walk from the Overseas Passenger Terminal. We were delighted by the service we received from check-in, the charm of the building and the view both...

The Holiday Inn has average standard rooms that are a bit dated. For what you pay, the location is worth it. With kids eating free the restaurant, it is a winner (great service Karl). The roof top pool has a view to impress.

I stayed at this hotel approx 30 years ago. It is now owned by the Holiday Inn and they have ruined the interior. However it is located in the heart of " The Rocks" area of Sydney. It is my favorite area. centrally located to central quay for ferries and trains. The rooms are clean and they allowed us to...

Stayed for 2 nights with children and elderly parents. All enjoyed our stay. My parents were most impressed with the facilities and service. My children enjoyed the wifi, comfy beds and roof-pool. The room was clean and a good size. We had great views from the fifth floor overlooking George street - a couple of floors higher and you have...

Staying in The Rocks

Neighbourhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
