A very modern small friendly hotel. From the moment we entered reception we were met by very friendly efficient and helpful staff. We arrived at 9-30 in the morning. Too early to book in but were informed a room would be ready in two hours. We were given vouchers for coffee at a cafe round the corner and a map...

Location is great; just around the corner for buses to both Railway Sq and Circular Quay and most other places easily accessible by foot. Only reason for 4 instead of 5 is that it would be good to have something to sit on outdoors on the balconies!

This was our 2nd stay at the Cambridge. First time got a free upgrade to a suite. This time room was OK but had frosted Windows and a concrete courtyard outside. They moved us to a much nicer room when I said I wasn't happy.

Stayed twice in November. First room great, more like an apartment with mini kitchen area. Second good but more suited to a business visitor, also slightly less expensive. So - go careful choosing your room. Did hear somebody complaining to reception that their room was not upto expectation

Great hotel for our recent short shopping trip to Sydney. Easy flat walk to Museum station with cafe's and convenience stores close by. Very comfortable stay. Only negatives, the lighting was not as bright as we are used to at home and wifi was temperamental but as we did not spend much time in our room we did not follow...

The location of the hotel is great, within walking distance to bus stops. The bed is very comfortable to sleep and the room is very clean as well. Besides, the staff also very friendly and helpful. Just there is no free breakfast provided.

I have to travel to Sydney quite frequently for work and have found this place to be my favourite so far. Staff are friendly, rooms are clean and the restaurant downstairs is fantastic. I like the location as I have to work in Surry Hills, however it is close to the city.

I stayed here for three nights while in Sydney for a conference. I had some concerns about road and other noise being located in a central part of Sydney but aside from white noise, it was surprisingly quiet. I had a one bedroom apartment on the eastern side of the building. Although a little rough around the edges (old sofa),...

Staying in Surry Hills

Neighbourhood Profile
Surry Hills
Once regarded as the traditional fashion area, Surry Hills has broadened its appeal. This neighbourhood continues to distinguish itself as a shopping destination, offering the best collection of one-of-a-kind boutiques, designer brands and flagship stores in the city. Today, this area has evolved into a hub of media, design and professional services - a colourful and diverse place equally known for its antique dealers, art galleries, cafes and pubs. Strolling down the street on a Saturday morning, you’ll see a mix of students, artists, hipsters and a few all-nighters from Oxford Street, the “Gay Capital of Sydney”. In this vibrant neighbourhood you will find bohemian chic and modern style co-existing side by side.
