We stayed here as part of a pre-cruise package. The check-in process took forever as the gal we were dealing with seemed so confused by our reservation and she seemed to ask and ask fellow colleagues for assistance. When we were finally in our room it was oppressively hot and we called and requested maintenance to come up and check...

Promised a room with a view of the Opera House. Got a view but had to walk to the end of the room to see it. At the cost of $1,300 for 3 nights it was not worth it. The buffet breakfast for 2 persons was $84. The food was of average quality. One could get much better quality food...

We stayed at this hotel at the end of our cruise, Sydney is one of my favourite cities. The views over the city from our room & the bar are just wonderful. The breakfast is well worth having, we also went to the seafood buffet which was great. The only negative was the lifts that seemed slow arriving and were...

Arrival & check-in were all great as you would expect from a hotel of this calibre. Had a room on the side overlooking Darling Harbour, which was fine. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The wifi is free (Thank you to the larger chains that have finally realised this shouldn't attract an extra charge). Pretty well located...

Although just a 1 night stay I was highly impressed with the views from my harbour view room and the overall service and quality of the hotel. Sadly didn't eat there so cant comment on feed, etc but well worth staying there if you can and try and get an upper level harbour view room, east or north facing the...

I stayed at the hotel as part of my honeymoon for 4 nights and was extremely disappointed. The check in was very easy, however once we got to our room we noticed that there were no electrical sockets near the mirrors. I had to stand on the other side of the room and look in the distance when styling my...

This hotel just keeps getting better and better. The recently refurbished Horizon Club rooms are lovely with tasteful appointments and a lovely bathroom. The service in the Club Lounge is always excellent and the staff are unfailingly friendly and professional. The Horizon Club gives you a spectacular view of the Harbour Bridge, the Opera House and the entire harbour all...

I cannot fault this hotel. It is absolutely beautiful. The staff are very accommodating and will take care of any requests you have. I celebrated a birthday and was greeted with a birthday cake in my room. The hotel is immaculate with great access to the city.

This hotel has one of those names and reputation that says "top end" but sometimes when you pay up the top dollar it doesn't quite deliver. This place does deliver what you pay for. The views of Sydney is spectacular to start with, if you are lucky enough to get one of the Harbourside rooms, it is not something you...

Staying in The Rocks

Neighbourhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
