I have been reviewing hotels for years but there is something about Four Seasons Sydney that simply makes them stand out. They have the best Service-the staff are courteous , polite & friendly from the Doorman, Front Desk, Pei & Grain Staff to Housekeeping staff. They really go the extra mile for guest satisfaction- The doorman carries your luggage to your... More

The extra cost of an Opera House and Bridge view room is worth every penny. Rooms are much smaller than the nearby Shangri La where we stayed on our last visit, but the climb up to it was so steep we decided to try the Four Seasons this trip. Certainly easier to walk to from both Central Quay and the... More

Decided to stay here for a couple of nights recently and found it to be a great location and a surprisingly pleasant hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful with a courtesy bus to drop you off around the city was great. Rooms although older in style were clean and comfortable and tastefully decorated. Will stay again.

For a 5***** Hotel, this place feels a little outdated. Location is great, just opposite the Circular Quay and walking distance to the Sydney Opera House. My room, a bit smelly, was spacious with windows 2 sides, but not facing the Opera. The hotel feels a little old with furniture in room being worn out and bathroom being old fashioned.... More

I've stayed in many hotels, from budget to luxury, and have to say that this ranks up there with one of my most disappointing. It wasn't a BAD stay - it just didn't live up to my expectations of a Four Seasons and wasn't nearly worth the price I paid. The room was much smaller and more dated than I... More

Booked this for a birthday weekend to Sydney. I admit for the price of over $400 a night we were expecting a little more from the room. Very small with no where to open a suitcase, so had the fold out luggage rack set up in the passage (and broke my toe on it coming out of the bathroom at... More

The hotel is located in the heart of Sydney! The service in this hotel is excellent! If you must try the room service for any meals, it's definitely worth every penny! The food is delicious! You must also try the Shira wine while in Australia- it is so good! My room has a panoramic view of the opera house and... More

Arrived very early with a group from US. Everyone in our group rooms were ready except mine. When I finally got my room it was not a view of the harbor like i requested. I also showed my AARP card and stated that I had transferred my Sheraton account to my Marriott account. The staff person had no idea what... More

this is a hotel whether staff are really good but the hotel is getting a bit tired, the rooms are a little small and un-inspirational, the cafe which from memory is called Pei, is particularly uninspirational and during the buffet breakfast demonstrated a total lack of system by management for the staff to keep up with the sudden rush which... Stayed here twice during our trip. Location cannot be beat, close to shopping, restaurants, Circular Quay and The Rocks. Walkable to everything. Like a real estate purchase, location is everything. Other than that, front desk and concierge service was good but nothing memorable. Room was tiny tiny, typical large city hotel room (similar or smaller than NYC). Hotel has two... More

Staying in The Rocks

Neighbourhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
