Iconic Australian food, shrimps on the barbee, meat pies, vegemite sandwiches, etc can run a bit thin in Sydney, but the Hyde Park Inn is in walking distance of Sydney's Thai, Korean, and China towns. Our room on the 10th floor had a nice view of the park. The air-conditioner was silent and the room was nicely furnished with a...

It's not the fanciest hotel but the staff was helpful and courteous. Room clean and comfortable. There might have been some black mold growing in the corner of the ceiling in the bathroom -- or it was peculiar insulation that was exposed. The kitchenette was stocked with 2 dry cereals, tea, coffee, cookies each morning. Fruit, juice, milk and bread...

Convenient location as there are a lot of restaurants at the back streets. The kitchen is well equipped, even with stove and oven! The continental breakfast was stopped in the fridge for consumption. Hyde park is having construction work, otherwise the view will be much better. Well, that's why the price dropped a bit.

Great location to walk to tourist attractions in Sydney and good that on-site parking is included in room rate. Liked that basic breakfast items delivered to room refrigerator every day. Very clean and beds comfortable.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for two nights while touring sydney. The room was spot on (we got a free upgrade for no apparent reason) and the light breakfast they provide was fine, albeit particularly light. The jewel in the crown is the free parking which is very hard to come across in sydney cbd, the staff allowed us...

Very quick check in, room overlooking the park, on 15th floor, staff were very helpful with any info and requests. The room was spacious & quiet, heavy curtains blocked out light etc. kitchenette had everything we needed but no dish cloth or tea towel , mentioned this on check out, the location is near many cafe, hotels, and a nice...

Brown and more brown - what a dismal room! We were staying in a two bedroom apartment in the Hyde Park Inn and the carpet and furnishings in the sitting room were a really depressing mix of shades of brown with harsh lighting. Plus points: ventral location, fabulous view of Hyde Park and beyond, overall cleanliness, good bathroom with spa...

This is actually the second time I have stayed at this hotel, with the first time way back in June of 2010. Things have not change much since then. I was lucky as check-in was quick. There were some times that I passed through the lobby and there were hoardes of people either waiting to check-in or check-out. This time...

Staff were friendly and welcoming, we even got offered a free room upgrade at check-in. The room was very good overall, some minor cleaning issues such as crumbs on the kitchen window sill (likely from a previous guest leaving the toaster there) and sand on the balcony. A continental breakfast was included in the room price and was good apart...

We stayed here for two nights during Australia Day. The location is excellent walking distance to Darling Harbour, Chinatown, major shopping, QVB, we also walked to Sydney harbour to enjoy the festive there. The room was clean and tidy and nice and quiet. Had nice kitchenette which was handy. Definitely will stay here again.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
