Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Comfortable, convenient location, close to shops and good restaurants and cafes. A bit dated but staff friendly and helpful. We stayed on several occasions as we travelled and camped through the region. Secure luggage storage appreciated.

We had 1 night and later 3 nights. The idea for going to a motel was being able to self cater. There was a jug, toaster, 2 cups and spoons. No plates or cutlery!! The first room was dark. The 3 night stay was in a nicer room looking to the front. The bed was comfy and bathroom was good. Motel well situated for the supermarket and shops a block away

Hotel 3 stars but really less than that. The sign on the road says : hotel bar restaurant. No bar no restaurant. Reception with kind persons but closes at 7 p.m and opens only 7 a.m. Air conditioning with heating not working. One night freezing. Next day th same if I don t come back 1 p.m. to check it. Nothing was done. They changed the room but also there very poor heating. Outside 8 degrees or less. Even electricity problems.

Very basic but it's a room. You get what you're paying for, 3star at best. It's not exactly the cleanest, usual mold in the shower, water damage around the toilet, bedding is pretty ordinary, even brown to cover any well?? Yes, it's that sort of a motel. The parking is secure with the entire compound locked at night, the reinforced lock bars on the doors from previous kick in's or the like are a little in your face. BUT if you want something cleaner and better appointed you have to pay $100+ extra a night so just weigh up what you're getting and be educated unlike me! Don't believe the photos on the website 7yrs ago, that's not what you're getting. Would I stay here again, I don't think so. My colleague stayed in the Diplomat and stated it's worse so be aware in Alice!

This Hotel is exactly how is shown in the pictures: a bit dated but very clean and cozy. Also they have a swimming pool very appreciate during summer time, and a laundry witch is $4 (if I am not wrong) great thing if you have traveled for a bit. Lastly the hotel is very closed to the mall where you can find nice restaurants for lunch and the supermarket in case of any needs. I loved spent my time there even if I traveled solo I felt really safe and the reception personnel was very kind!

Nothing flash but clean and comfortable. Easy walking distance to Central Alice Springs. Has got security at night so you can only access with a code. Pool and BBQ (you will need your own utensils). Fairly spacious rooms.

We stayed at Elkira in October and enjoyed the stay. Dan and Bikram were extremely accommodating and friendly. The rooms were spacious, clean and very comfortable. Location is in the middle of Alice Springs and we could walk everywhere except to the Casino, which is not a must to attend.

We booked a room with a spa - pictures online looked good but the bathroom and kitchenette cupboards were very worn and damaged, light switch damaged, and spa looked grubby with age - so we didnt use it. But worst of all was the location of our room at ground level right outside was the communal smoking area. We had no privacy unless we kept the curtains closed - there were no net curtains so everyone walking by could see right in. Unfortunately there were no other rooms available - perhaps a first floor room with a balcony might have been ok. The footpaths and outdoor seating areas need a good tidy up - very messy. Brochures in the reception area were mostly water damaged so should have been thrown out but still sitting in the racks. Bought our own kettle as the one there was not clean. Overall a bad impression and we did moved to another motel. We were grateful to get a refund for our remaining 3nights. On the plus side the motel is very close to the shops and has a pool area that looked ok compared to the rest of the motel.

Elkira is right in town which makes it easy to get around without using a taxi. The rooms are fairly basic but bed comfortable, hot water and good security. They close the gate at 7pm and it is easy to get back in after hours. The staff were very friendly and helpful and organised a car pickup to the airport after check out. As our flight was delayed they also allowed an extra hour to check out which was much appreciated. We went to Simply Korean for dinner, a nice walk, maybe 20 mins, and then walked home but took a different route on the main road. Breakfast the following morning at a fabulous cafe in Arcade. (can't recall name) but highly recommend it. fabulous coffee and tasty food. For a 1 night stay would recommend.

This is not the Ritz Carlton. But it doesn't claim to be and I would definitely stay here again. It was clean, comfortable, safe, and an easy walk to most everything we wanted to do in town. There's a fridge in the room and a hot pot to make instant coffee. Yes you could hear street noise at night and if people on the street are yelling you can hear it in the room. But that was temporary and only one night for a few minutes. (can't control the population...). We didn't want to drive, and this made it easy to walk to all the bars and restaurants, the grocery store, bus stop, etc. Most of the upscale hotels are much farther away so you'd have to get transportation back and forth or just stay on their property. This worked out great for us and I'd stay there again. Just know it's not the Ritz (and Alice Springs isn't Sydney)...
