Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed there recently. The noise coming from the trains passing during the night made it almost impossible to sleep. The continental breakfast was almost non existent. When i voiced my concerns in regards to these problems, the front desk staff. were very dismissive of my concerns. We were booked for 2 nights but cancelled the second night stay out of sheer disgust. Would never stay again.

Response from Denison Hotel, Marketing at Denison Boutique Hotel
Responded 10 Apr 2021
Dear John, Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us your feedback. We have a railway line that runs in front of the property which is clearly visible on the map, this is a throwback to our heritage of being built as a railway administration building back in 1885. We do provide complimentary ear plugs for the light sleepers but as you can see from the countless reviews about the train line, the noise is minimal. Unfortunately due to the ongoing pandemic, we are unable to provide a hot breakfast but we do provide an extensive continental breakfast, had you joined us for breakfast, I'm sure you would have enjoyed it. Our team tried to assist in every way possible and even provided a refund when you left. I'm sorry we were not to your liking but we did try our best to keep you happy, I can assure you we are never dismissive of any of our guests.

This is lovely old style hotel. Easy to access despite us arriving and leaving out of reception hours. Few aspects not 100% clean but generally pretty good. Would recommend for something different and a good price.

We stayed one night and the room was decked out in old world furniture. Bed was a four poster and very comfortable. One word of caution it is a 10 minute walk into town and there is not a lot in the immediate vicinity. We walked into town to check out a few pubs and eating options. Caught an Uber back for less than $10. Breakfast is included - cereal toast yoghurt fresh fruit tea and coffee. Good value for money in a setting of days gone by.

Fabulous restored old building. Beautiful room. 5 meter ceilings, 4 poster bed, clean well restored antique furnishings . Thoughtful room amenities including bathbomb for the bath. Close to centre but not a lot of eating options within walking distance. Welll priced and a great place to stay

We enjoyed every aspect of our stay in this magnificent motel. It is a most beautiful place with a lovely lady on the reception. Great value for a unique stay. A restful nights sleep in a very comfortable, large bed. Cannot recommend a stay here highly enough.

Beautifully decorated rooms, very clean, comfortable beds. Not the quietest location as close to road & railway but really didn’t bother me. Easy after hours check in. Well priced for space and location. Thanks, will be back!

We arrived at Denison Boutique Hotel to find that it was a beautiful old building which is part of its charm. We were greeted by a lovely friendly lady at reception which was nice after a long drive from Brisbane. Our room was very fitting of the building, nicely furnished, clean and relaxing. We’d stay here again.

A short walk from the city centre, this 1885 old railway administration building, recently converted to a hotel, is an opportunity to experience heritage grandeur. The rooms all have 16ft ceilings, four poster beds and specially designed and fitted furniture. A spa bath in each room completes the luxury. Staff are friendly and helpful and there is plenty of parking. It is close to the railway line which might be a detractor if you are a light sleeper. We found it a source of interest.

Talk about a step back in time. The room was large and beautiful filled with antique furniture and a lovely corner spa. The bed was huge and the mattress was so soft and comfy. The bath towels were fluffy and soft. Our room was on the ground floor over looking the garden. Very quiet despite the train track running down the road. A couple of Deisel freight trains went through but it was not loud. The continental breakfast was great and the staff were very friendly and lovely to talk too

On entering our room it was like living in Downtown Abbey for 2 nights, beautifully decorated with authentic antiques. Clean, great size room, high ceilings, air conditioning and great size spa. Breakfast was included. Downside is that the Area it’s situated in is industrial. We enjoyed the novelty stay anyway.
