agree about the Stinger suits, of course heat, tides, currents and wind all play a part in the real risk of the presence of stingers - if you're good at reading all those conditions you can mitigate the risk somewhat. the suits hired at Fitzroy are among the better quality on offer up in FNQ and thus are reasonably comfortable. we recently stayed four days and that's probably enough. snorkeling is however absolutely first rate. we saw and interacted with sea turtles on every session we took.
