Great location near the Leven River and a REAL dedicated wild life refuge and well off the beaten track. We stayed 2 nights. Today it is getting more dificult to escape the crowds.....this is the place to do it. Experience the feeling of wilderness and view Tasmanias iconic animals up close. Good birding as well. We stayed four nights at Mountain Valley and thoroughly enjoyed it. The highlights of course, were the animals, attracted to the cabins by the meat put out by the owners. For anyone who likes away from it all, with animals on tap, then this is a must. One of the highlights of the stay is nightly visits from wild Tassie Devils and if you're lucky Spotted Tailed Quolls, Ring Tailed Possums etc. There are also platypus in the river and a variety of birds.
